Arizona State, California, Colorado State, Nebraska and Northwestern.

"Notre Dame would definitely join the top five for me," Morgan said. "I have a lot of history with Notre Dame. My cousin Skylar Diggins went there and that's a big thing. My grandmother, her family is from South Bend, so I have some family out in Indiana and that would be big, too."

Morgan intends to shut down the recruiting process after he makes a decision, but would take a few visits to see a couple different places.

Seems like he'd die for an offer and he'll be Irish if offered. My guess is the staff just isn't seeing what they want on tape, thus wanting to see him live. Is it live or is it Memorex?

denbrock watched him yesterday at practice

"I didn't get a chance to talk to him, but he watched one-on-one drills and he saw no passes caught on me plus my interception," Morgan said when asked how it went. "Hopefully it impressed him and some of the other coaches there."

If Notre Dame doesn't offer in the next few days, it might not ever happen, and as of right now, it's not looking likely

Now Notre Dame decides to offer, just a week too late.

Seems to be a theme, but hopefully the staff is just working their list in priority order and has solid contingency plans lined up. In general, does anyone know if BVG can pull the trigger on offers, or does even the DC have to wait until the staff meetings to get the blessing to extend an offer?

Get over it people...this isn't an elite player and staff needed to see more film on coverage man to man...he set up his commit date with his friends...and then we decided later to offer...there are many others out there with similar or better skills...also bvg chooses offers on def....all def offers go through him in response to someone?

While I never wanted to offer him in the first place

Morgan said the coaches "lost contact" with him during the transition of area recruiters.

"They said they felt they should've offered a while ago and apologized," Morgan said.

BVG doesn't do anything guy can't recruit, watch tape or stop a spread offense. He's been useless ever since the UNC game. I am honestly afraid we won't play on New Years and he will be the reason for that. Yes,we had a thousand injuries last year but I just never really liked the hire. I might be the minority hear but he scares me to death

It seems like we are a step behind on a lot of recruits. Maybe that was their plan all along, right Pandfan?

I'd usually be mad about the late offer, but his film lacks that "wow" factor.

So do I man, I think he was severely out coached in a lot of games last year and for someone who has been calling defenses for twenty years he was always two steps behind. Could it have been due to injuries last year? Sure I think that played a role but I think he is getting his ass kicked on the field and on the trail.

Flips/Semi-Flips from 2015 Recruiting Class:

Brandon Wimbush (Penn St.)
Josh Barajas (Penn St.)
Aliz'e Jones (UCLA)
Shaun Crawford (Michigan)
Dexter Williams (Miami)

Those were five of the crown jewels from last year's class. Clearly, we're employing a revolutionary new strategy where we wait for a recruit to commit to another school before offering, then explain why we're 1000 times better than the team they originally committed to. The strategy appears to be working like a charm. Last year we flipped over 20% of our class. This year, BVG seems set on flipping at least 40%. If we continue on this pace, the Class of 2019 will be ALL FLIPS. I love it. It's bold, its fresh, it's a game changer in the recruiting world. Take notes Urban.

But, but but....next Su'a Cravens.

I still like his film, but he doesn't fit the mold of safety that we need. He's more of a hybrid like Traanquill, and will probably end up moving to LB.

I disagree. On the field at least. Our guys were lined up correctly most of the time. There just wasn't any push up front after Day and Jones got hurt, this allowed OL to move up to LB almost effortlessly. Not to mention all the mental errors which come from learning a brand new system, especially hard for mostly 1st or 2nd year guys who haven't fully adapted to the college game.

So you were actually serious about the Su'a Cravens comparison?

I saw similarities, but looking back not really. Both are very identical frame wise and both are hybrids, but Cravens has a lot more strength and physicality to his game.

We were saying the same thing last year. Then we stuck out on Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, Plan D...

Think he's probably a gamer but I don't think we go here. We have a lot of S targets on the board that I like better. Crazy good kid and perfect fit, just not the player we need.

So you still think Chacho gets a spot at the end of the year? If I'm gonna take a flyer, I'll take Morgan. He can at least grow into a LB, whereas Chacho is Nicco 2.0.

ND got too much traction with the guys back east for the Cali guys to wait it out.

Be interesting to see why he chose to open it back up.

Nicco is vastly more talented than Chacho. Nicco's game is limited but he extremely good at what he does and will be great in a role fit for him whereas Chacho imo is just not a high D1 talent even as 4th or 5th stringer.

I think the ship has sailed on Morgan. He had his chance, but now ND has made up ground on better prospects and better swing players.

Wouldnt be mad if he was part of the class, but Spencer Perry and Devin Studstill are better versions of Morgan, not to mention Lamar Jackson still considering ND.
