Very nice. I am very happy that Alpine is now coming to AZ.

Right now Shmaltz brewind He'brew Bittersweet Lenny RIPA.

Very good, though more like a Rye DIPA mixed with a barley wine.

Damn I live in OC and still can't find Alpine at most places. Good thing the drive to SD is only 1.5 hours or so. Have you tried Mother Earth Kismet? It is similar to Nelson and found it surprisingly good.

A few weeks ago Alpine started showing up on tap here. A place had Hoppy Birthday, Duet, Alpine Ale, their stout and their Irish red on tap. I had Duet and Hoppy Birthday on tap and grabbed a growler of Duet. I can't wait for Nelson and Pure Hoppiness to make it (or Exponential Hoppiness which is amazing).

I have not had Mother Earth Kismet. I have only had Boo Koo. I will snag Kismet next time in Cali if I see it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Glenmorangie 10 you old. My introduction to scotch. Nice deep complex flavor with some chest burn involved. Warming feeling.

If it don't burn a bit, it ain't worth a bog of the peat used as a filter.

Taco Bell Diablo sauce. Chased with Founders Porter. Some people think Taco Bell sauces are actually hot.

Talisker Storm.

I went in today to Costco to get new tires put on my wife's car and was browsing around and saw this. I love Talisker but I have been put off by how expensive this bottle is for a NAS (typically $70 here though Costco normally sells it for $57) but today Costco had it $17 off so for $40, the bottle followed me home.

Talisker Storm
N: Honey, oats, a little apple, some brine, smoked fish, and a little campfire smoke.
P: Upfront it hits you with some sweet fruit (apple, pears, bananas, and maybe a touch of melon), with some honey and vanilla, then the smoked fish, brine and campfire .
F: The finish sees the comeback of some honeyed melon and apples but after you swallow it is briney smoked fish with some campefire smoke and ash that lingers.

Overall for the price I payed it is very good but it is not worth the normal price of $70ish.

Sounds kind of gross. And I live in a fishing/camping community.

I completely understand that, but it tastes wonderful to me. Whiskeyjack would be right there with you (he doesn't enjoy peaty whiskies) but if you like peaty whiskies this is very good for the price I paid. The ashy part is probably the hardest but it doesn't go over the top with it (I have had some whiskies that had a really big ashy note and that is tough).

My brother tapped out his six barrel of Sculpin, so he brought over a couple growlers of Ska's Modus Hoperandi. Not bad, but I much preferred the Sculpin.

I think it sounds very interesting and I'd definitely try it. But man smoke, ash, and fish? I'm just not sure about that, haha.
