Interesting point. I'm sure the SEC can see past that" super-hard-to-get waiver" (yes, those are sarcasm italics) for Golson if it gets him to an SEC East team and helps make them competitive next season. Honestly, I'd rather see Golson land at Florida. Him taking his Notre Dame degree and going to FSU would just sicken me.

Does anyone really think the SEC won't grant a waiver for a ND grad? I just find that hard to overlook.

Guess if it is FSU who cares?

I think there are 2 rules preventing it. One requires 2 years of eligibility left, and the other requires no prior academic indiscretions.

Gotcha! I was just thinking all rules are out when an SEC team can say they accepted an ND grad transfer. Doesn't happen often.

I do hope he ends up at Florida. Have lots of friends who are die hard. Hope the best for him but don't think he would win SEC or worry ND.

I agree with the bolded part.

Put yourself in his shoes. Sharing snaps at ND or being "the guy" at FSU? In the end he may be making the best financial move by moving on. If things dont work out at least he will get to enjoy some free crab legs.

...come on man. I think the kid gave it everything he had. I think He did not separate himself enough in spring to be named the starter. My guess is he and Kelly both knew what not naming him starting QB meant even before spring.

...and now its here. Wherever he goes, he knows he'll get to start. It may help him get drafted. And it will say ND next to his name when he does...shrug. MZ time.

Lol he made smartest move he could make. He's a not read option guy, he was definitely splitting reps with zaire and quite frankly I don't believe in Kelly as a QB teacher or o designer. Fsu puts qb baddies in NFL, jimbo will have a real test of teaching him to stay in pocket and see middle of field. Im sure the offense will have plays actually designed to help that. Will be interesting to see, but who's he have at wr? Winston lost magic without Benjamin and now Greene is gone.

Notre Dame graduate QB Everett Golson is expected to announce where he will transfer on Monday, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Florida State is still the favorite, with the Palm Beach Post reporting that Golson "could be leaning toward spending his final his season in Tallahassee." The paper also stated that Jimbo Fisher wants Golson to help replace 2013 Heisman winner Jameis Winston. The SEC's waiver process has led many to assume that Golson would be rejected from entering the conference, which has severely hurt the chances of Georgia, Alabama and Florida. May 15 - 6:41 PM

It's as much relationship as competition (coward comment). Probably a little bit about the offensive system as well. Nobody will ever know when he made the decision or exactly why unless he tells us. Could have been before the LSU game, could have been last week. While I think he's probably making a bad decision, it's probably the best one for him, and probably the best long term for ND. Rep wise, it sucks, but give it a rest. He played, he graduated, now he gone. Next man in.
