If Hoge is as good as advertised, I'd probably start him at OG instead.

The C battle next year is going to be interesting, IMO. It sounds like Mustipher had a really good spring but Hoge was the better prospect coming out of HS. Any thoughts on that?

2015 OL
Stanley-Nelson-Martin-Elmer-McGlinchey

2016 OL
McGlinchey-Nelson-Mustipher/Hoge-Elmer-Bars

2017 OL
McGlinchey-Nelson-Mustipher/Hoge-Bredeson/Kraemer-Bars

Our OL is stacked for the foreseeable future. Really shouldn't ever have a problem running the ball.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mustipher as our starting C in 2016, but I'd bet Hoge will surpass him by the start of 2017.

Best part about that is the continuity we should have for a few years, knock on wood.

2015 - Agreed

2016 - Bars - Nelson - (Whoever wins it) - Elmer - McGlinchey
........- Leave McG on the right side to guard MZ's blindside

2017 - Who knows... Some of these guys will be leaving early.

Interesting point. But Kelly has already stated that he doesn't turn his offense around for his quarterback.

I think McGlinchey is a natural right or front or powerside tackle. He pulls like a s.o.b., and he drives anything in his path into the ground. Bars has the (best on the team) footwork to be a backside tackle, after Stanley leaves.

What is the state of John Montelus? I thought he was supposed to be very good as well.

From what I've read/heard, he's probably our 8th linemen at this point. He needs another year in the cooker, then he may take a guard spot. Paring him with Nelson as our guards could be a lot of fun!!

I keep rooting for Montelus, he always struck me as the type of OL that Bama gets. Monster frame, some bad weight but a ton of potential.

If McGlinchey moves to LT their is a good chance we have back-to-back-to-back first round picks at the position with Martin, Stanley, and then McGlinchey. Some coach is gonna fall in love with McGlinchey's size and athleticism. Prototype NFL LT.

problem for the true guards in this OL is they are battling not just the other guards for PT but the reserve Tackles too

colleague spoke to his Mom a month or two ago (colleagues kid and BB play basketball together) and her comment was very similar. Basically Ben really loves ND. Not the parents choice but they are letting him make his own decision. I believe the parents prefer Mich or Wisconsin. OSU really isn't a factor. On his visits to OSU there is very little discussion on the academic side. It's all about the football. Michigan, UW and ND are selling everything. Mom says Chryst and Rudy have recruited very hard since the coaching change. Without Chryst and Rudy UW didn't have much of a chance. The relationship with the other coaches was not that strong. Difficulty for Chryst and Rudy is that they are behind with building that relationship. I believe Mattison is Michigan's lead recruiter for BB. And ND basically has the same guys.

Per Josh Hemboldt at Rivals, he thinks ND is running 3rd with the order being Wiscy, Michigan, ND, OSU.

Visiting scum soon, his brother is a baseball commit to scum
The last visit Bredeson took to Michigan was last fall, which was before Jim Harbaugh took over as head coach.

"I want to meet the new staff," Bredeson said. "That is a big thing for me because I haven't met any in-person except for (Tim) Drevno and Greg Mattison, obviously. We'll see how it works from there and maybe get with some of the players, see how I fit with them. Then, go through the academic presentation one more time, see what's all going on there."

Bredeson expects to make his college selection this summer
"It's a pretty big (visit). I am trying to tone things down and come to a decision soon, and I don't know how many more trips I'll be taking. (Michigan is) definitely solid in there, in the top group and one of the ones I am seriously considering. I really like it there and could see myself going there, so I just want to meet this new staff and see how everything goes."

Bredeson has also made visits to Notre Dame and Ohio State earlier in the process, and has seen each through his school during the spring evaluation period.

"I saw both (Notre Dame's Harry) Hiestand and (Ohio State's Ed) Warinner once," Bredeson said. "I've gotten both of my phone calls from them. I had some good talks with Coach (Urban) Meyer and Coach (Brian) Kelly. We just kind of made some small talk, then talked a little football."

Bredeson made a visit to South Bend in early April, and is looking to schedule something with Ohio State soon.

"There's a potential I'll go to Ohio State sometime over the summer, most likely in June, just to hang out there one, last time too," Bredeson said. "Notre Dame, I don't know yet. I still have to figure that out if I am going to head out there or not."

most of the 247 crystal ball predictions had Liam Eichenberg going to Ohio State so that shows how much they know. I am not saying he will not pick any of those other schools but Notre Dame is very much in this one.

A lot of the talk from 247 has him wanting to leave the state for school and Wiscy is playing from behind.

24/7 seems to think Wisconsin and Michigan and not rivals is saying it. Loy is the only one really driving him to ND. surprise, surprise.

I was fairly confident that Wiltfong said a week or two back that he thought it was ND/UM. I could be wrong but that's what I was thinking.

Neither seems to bode well.

Is that the generally new consensus since it seemed we were catching fire?

I reread the article put about Ben. It was a Badger 247 that said his mother wanted him close to home. Not sure how good that guy is. Also he wants to go where he has the best relationship. Wiltfong i believe changed his CB from ND to Foggy.
