Lucky, the coaching staffhas put forth the effort, plus, Mack talks to Jaylon all the time since they are from the same HS. Urban got in real early with Mack, and as soon as Robertson was offered, they jumped to the top for his services. Robertson is originally from Lima, Oh, and grew up a pOSU fan. It hasn't been for lack of effort for these two kids.....

I'm fully aware of Macks backstory with Jaylon and AWP. I'll disagree as Mack is on record saying that Urban has been on him harder than any coach. So maybe our effort isn't lacking but it isn't at the level of Urbie's. To me, after 7-5 that needs to change. So I'll give them some time to prove me wrong.

After watching Urban and his boys in person last night......there's a distinct difference in the type of boys he's recruiting compared to everyone else in the midwest.

They are much faster and explosive than anyone i've seen in the big ten including ND.

Urban is on his way up and that doesn't bode well for the rest of the region imo

I have read on Eleven Warriors that they were upset he was not recruiting Ohio very well and thst his national approach to recruiting was gonna cause OSU trouble. Lol

Interesting fact: The last Indiana kid that was a ND target who had announced at a June RAS event was Jaylon Smith.

That is why Austin and Auston are doing it. At first it seemed like a slam dunk for ND, now not so much.

The Hurry Up: Updates on Demario McCall, Austin Mack and are the Buckeyes Going Back to Minnesota for Linebacker Help | Eleven Warriors

Austin Mack update from Eleven Warriors:
One of the country's top wide receivers, Fort Wayne's Austin Mack, has had a busy weekend. He's traveled to the Carolinas and visited both North and South, continuing his efforts to learn as much about as many colleges as he can before his June 7th announcement. Ohio State continues to hold a comfortable lead on the 247Sports.com crystal ball.

While a visit to Chapel Hill and Columbia are concerning – anything can happen in the world of recruiting as we know – it's a planned visit to Michigan on March 7th that is worth paying attention to. Mack has been to Ohio State more times than I'm able to count, and he's been to Ann Arbor a handful of times as well, but this trip will be his first with Jim Harbaugh at the helm for the Wolverines. The Buckeyes, from what I'm told, feel confident in their position with Mack and are certainly not in a position to ask him to not make a visit, even if they'd like to. Visits to schools like Michigan and Notre Dame will no doubt warrant a bit more than a raised eyebrow as the Buckeyes hope to keep their hold on Mack, who recently underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum.

FWIW, ISD pointed out that driving to North Carolina on his own dime is a good indication that he is not the OSU lock that some would have us believe.

Wiltfong was on Bucknuts Morning 5 yesterday and discussed Austin Mack.

While he still believes that Mack will probably commit to the Buckeyes, he did say that he thinks that Mack is thinking more about ND and that the "adults" in Austin's life are split between ND and pOSU.

They start talking about Austin Mack at the 8:28 mark

The Hurry Up: Berry Can Ball, Mack Might Not Visit Michigan State, Jordan and Lukusa Top List and More | Eleven Warriors

One noticeable absence from Ohio State's spring game this past weekend was wide receiver Austin Mack, arguably the top prospect on the Buckeyes' wide receiver board. Mack opted for his junior prom instead of the visit to Ohio State, where he's visited roughly 4,210 times in the last year. This coming weekend he's scheduled to visit Michigan State for the Spartans' spring game, but he told 11W today he's not 100-percent sure that will happen.

"If the visit happens," Mack said. "I'm just going there to have a great time and see how I'd be used in their system. I might not make it because my boys get tired of going somewhere every weekend (laughs). But I might, I probably should just get up and go up there."

Mack is another prospect very interested in the Buckeyes that is trying to work with his school to allow him a chance to enroll early. Like most private schools around the country, Bishop Luers (Fort Wayne, Indiana) doesn't allow students to graduate early; Kareem Walker is working to circumvent that standard in New Jersey.

"I'm going to battle the school a bit to see if they'll let me," Mack said potentially of enrolling early. "It's an enormous advantage for the players who get to do it. It's all good if they don't let me, though."

Does anyone else not particularly care whether or not we land this kid? I watched a workout tape of his on 247 and was very underwhelmed. Furthermore, we stockpiled receivers in the last class and really only need to take two this cycle. I say we let OSU have this one and swing for the fences with Javon McKinley, Ahmir Mitchell and/or Donnie Corley.

Mack would be a big miss for Notre Dame.

Disagree, Nixon, Corley and McKinley are all better prospects in my mind.... If Mack wasn't from Fort Wayne we wouldn't be discussing this, I just don't think he is as talented as anyone on our roster or other targets

Maybe he isn't a big miss in that we can recover from missing out on him. However, I am not a fan of being beaten out for in state targets that we want by Urban. In the same sense losing Eichenberg won't kill OSU, but it certainly stings for them.

I agree with this.
