NO!

Undefeated Cat Zingano came out with a flying knee, got rolled and arm barred in 14 seconds... This chick is unreal. Unfortunately, she is so much better than the other women that people don't understand her skill set. Throw in some NFL guys that think they can take her because they can bench press the house. Her Judo is nothing short of a thing of beauty.

They need to make the Cyborg fight happen somehow but Cyborg would probably fail her/his drug test anyway. Make it a catch-weight fight. That's the only fight right now that I could see Ronda possibly getting tested...and even then, I'd pick Rousey to win.

Cyborg is a fraud, bad for the sport. I want to see it happen just for the fact that I know Ronda will be motivated more than ever to take out the bad guy. She openly hates Cyborg, and will do everything in her power to not just beat her, but hurt her.

She is an amazing fighter, a true outlier in the women's MMA game and because of that a real problem for the promotion. What compelling matchup is there for her? Right now there isn't one.

I agree...especially with the bolded part. But I do think a juiced up Cyborg is the second best ?female? fighter out there right now...or at least the one who makes the most sense to matchup with Ronda.

I remember being so bummed when Cyborg beat Gina haha. Ronda would probably dominate Cyborg tho if it ever does happen...which I'm hoping it does.

Just read that she will take some time off to film a movie. Smart move for the UFC. Give someone time to build some steam. Possibly Holly Holm could win a couple more fights. Would really like to see RR in a war. Very impressive win.

Diggstown style. 10 fights in a row all in 1 night.

Everyone can be stopped. Takes a disciplined game plan, and a certain level of skill, and maybe a let down by Rousey, but no one is w/o a weakness, and no one is without a foe tailor made to exploit that weakness.

It may take 2-3 years, but she'll get "Caught"... even if no one can see the person on the horizon...I mean, who saw freaking Buster Douglass coming?

Women's MMA is still in it's infancy. Her reign is very similar to Royce Gracie's when the UFC first started. With Royce, very few were familiar with BJJ, so he was able to exploit this.

With Rhonda, her level of Judo is something none of these other women can even train against. As time passes, and more women enter the sport, the holes in Rhonda's game will be exposed (eventually, someone will be able to wrestle her out of her Judo throws). When that time comes, she'll be beaten, because she is currently a 1 (or 2) trick pony. Her one trick is just better than everyone elses.

Totally agree. But, Rousey has been preparing and training for combat sports since she was 11, technically, athletically, physically, and mentally she has a huge head start on most of the women fighters right now. There is someone out there on the horizon who will give her problems, will probably have to be a very heavy handed striker. Hopefully they will forgo college and immerse themself in training once they finish high school so we can see this fight before Ronda turns 35. (just kidding...kind of)

I disagree with the imminent inevitability of this statement. The difference in the women's game is no one, not even Sara Kaufmann (sp) has one punch knockout power. All of the top fighters can take a well placed punch on the button. Without that game changing presence it will be hard to take Ronda out of her realm of expertise. She is a big 135lber and can walk through most girl's punches. She is incredible, world class at her one or two tricks, and very good, maybe even dominant at the other parts of the women's game. I am not saying there will never be anyone that threatens her, but I don't think that person has fought her first MMA fight yet, and like I said above, maybe hasn't finished high school yet.

Ronda Rousey is the Todd Marinovich of MMA without the collapse, or maybe/hopefully, more accurately the Equanimeous St. Brown.

Greek is correct though..everyone has a weakness and everyone can be defeated. Her opponent came out way to fast and furious. Pretty much telegraphed what she was doing. For the most part, you can't just overpower somebody..sometimes you can hit him in the right spot but generally, a disciplined and slow approach will take her down. Start out on the defensive and be patient.

My thing is this, I agree that the playing field will level out once women are training in a specific discipline of martial art for their whole lives like Ronda with Judo. The thing is, I don't know if the rest of the pack will be able to catch her by the time she leaves the game. She is light years ahead right now, and if her biggest threat is roided up chicks like Cyborg who try to knock her out, she will remain undefeated.

Connecting on a wild haymaker was that woman's only chance, based on what I've read about Rousey today. She took a shot and missed, and was losing in the first round no matter what.

No one I've seen considers her a world class striker except, well, herself. She's a world-class grappler. Cyborg is a striker, which is why I'd love to see the fight.

There are a variety of fighters (whom I'd be lying if I said I was familiar with) that need more experience. Rhonda has a head-start, and trained in a discipline that lends itself to females and this weight class.

Again, to use the Royce Gracie analogy, eventually she'll find her Sakuraba. Someone who's not as adept at her strength, but well rounded enough to take her away from that (and anyone that hasn't watched the Gracie v Sakuraba fight in Japan, do yourself a favor and watch it. Great fight).

Edit: Not knowing who's in the ranks next just proves my point. The game is in its infancy. Crowning her the best ever is great and all, but we're only talking about a history of a few years.

Yeah? I don't follow UFC so I was more or less talking general fight strategy. She seemed out of control, even for her own good.

Just to be clear, I do not consider Ronda a world class striker. I think she can walk through the strikes of any woman who is not pumped full of steroids for the most part. Also, I am not anointing her the GOAT, I am saying that she is a significant outlier and as long as she brings 100% to her fights it will take a while, maybe until she is well past her prime for anyone to take her belt. It is not just her physical abilities and technical expertise i.e GSP, she is a fighter i.e. Nick Diaz, and she has the camp and mental game i.e. Jon Jones. She has been training for fight sports since she was 11. She will be tough to beat for a while.
