I really hope Norman Osborn somehow gets his hands on the Iron Patriot armor.

Are they replacing Andrew Garfield? If so they better re-cast soon to get Spidey in Cap 3.

Been reading some of the articles and in some of the fan sites. It seems like a majority do not want Marvel's Spider-Man to be origin story. Many don't think it would be (maybe have it in flashback like at the start of Incredible Hulk), because of the fact that they would want him in Captain America: Civil War as he played a big part of the comics universe civil war, so he would already be introduced. This also leads to a potentially slightly older (not old) Spider-Man that may already be married/engaged and thus feel the weight of him exposing his identity even more (once again, like in the comics).

Way too early to tell, but Wiz is right, I could see them still being able to potetntially get Spidey into a post Avengers credits scene even if strictly CGI with no voice (due to not yet being cast) or maybe even just a reference.

But fanboys everywhere are having a good day today

One thing to keep in mind is that Captain America: Civil War is not going to cover the entirety of the MCU civil war arc. Feige has said that Cap 3 will be the "kickoff" of the superhero civil war, but that it will continue to play out in future films. This could have significant implications vis a vis the timeline to integrate Spidey.

So I'm guessing there is going to be a lot of rewriting and brainstorming going on. I wish they had kept the original dates for these movies instead of moving them. Really wanted to see a Black Panther movie before Avengers 3. I'm excited to see Spidey in the MCU, just hope it doesn't take away from other characters.

I'm not sure what to do with this information, but apparently Sony plans on plugging along with their Sinister Six and Venom spinoff films without any oversight from Marvel Studios or Kevin Feige. I can't imagine that Marvel would allow Sony to dilute the quality of their universe with crappy spinoffs.

As was the case before the Spider-Man character agreement, Marvel has no say over those items. That is unless they were part the agreement, but everything I have read and seen only refers to Spider-Man the character, not the full Spider-Man array of characters.

Message boards have been very against those films who knows, maybe they won't end up happening. Maybe they'll run into timing issues with Spidey in the MMU

I know Marvel can't stop them from happening but they can stop them from being included in their canon. And since Spidey IS in the canon now, that would break the link between Spidey and his spinoffs, which would be absurd on the part of Sony.

It's very clear that Sony just doesn't know what to do with The Spidey franchise. I can't see the spinoffs being anything other than a disaster if they do indeed get made. I hope for the sake of continuity with the MCU that those films either don't get made, or are made with Marvel's help.

Oh good. Zack Snyder is applying his utterly colorless "Zack Snyder Filter" to this film, too. Because that's what everyone thinks of when they think of comic books, right? Colorless?

He's going to do the same thing to this movie that he did to Man of Steel: try way too hard to be epic/badass/profound while completely forgetting to let the audience have any fun.

Loved his adaptation of The Watchmen. I'll reserve judgement until I see it. I'll agree that the Man of Steel wasn't the best, but I've yet to see a good Superman movie. I'm really holding out hope for this franchise, being a DC guy I just really hope it ends well.

Seems like poor planning on the part of the fight promoters. Why not pick the week before or after?

The promo pic is just mostly black and white so they can reveal the colors later. They did the same thing with the Batman and WW promo pics.
