This is really shocking to me, a fan of NY teams is hating on Boston fans and teams. Italicize!

Rhode or Wizards:

I stated my thoughts before any of this deflategate came out so you can't say it has anything to do with this.

I will bet either or both of you that the Seahawks will win. The stakes are a 3 month ban from posting. Put up or shut up. I'll take 6 months off if you both want to take the bet and I lose.

Will you grant a contingency? I'll make the bet if and only if neither Belichick nor Brady are suspended for the game.

Brady and Belichick will not be suspended. I feel less good about the game than I did before all this dumb scandal happened. But sure. I'm in.

I will give you the contingency on Brady if you grant me the same contingency on Richard Sherman playing. I'm not giving the contingency on Belicheat as he has already had a week to gameplan and likely the next few days at a minimum. I guaranteed a Seahawks win on Sunday so I'm not trying to take advantage of the situation.

Screw it, you're right. I'm in regardless of the contingency.

The stakes:

If the Seahawks win, Rhode Irish and wizards8507 are banned for three months each.
If the Patriots win, gkIrish is banned for six months.

Everyone agree?

Banned from posting. I'm not going to be able to neglect my mod duties and I don't want the bet to prevent anyone from viewing the site.

No Brady/Sherman contingencies.

Is it too late to thWhile I have nothing to contribute to this "conversation," I will add my usual musical interlude:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/lQ6akiGRcL8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I await, as usual, more proof before speculating or commenting.

I tend to root for the NFL team with the most post-ND players on the team. In this case, if the numbers hold true, it's the Vikings. Convenient since I live in Minneapolis. I think I'm honor bound. I'd hate to lose my right to vote against taxpayers being saddled with unending tax debt for private playgrounds.

Oh, so sad that the Viqueens suck.

Is it too late to throw in that the Twins, Timberwolves and Wild also suck into the mix?

I could use a good sabbatical anyways. I will never self enforce so I probably need a banning.

I've somehow never been banned before. Would my vBucks still get interest while banned?

Also it doesn't matter to me whether gk's stakes are 3 or 6 months. Six seems a little tough. I don't dislike the guy I just disagree with him on this, because when I feel that someone or something I care about is under fire I get a little bit Al Capone in The Untouchables.

You can call it what you want, but I honestly believe there is absolutely zero impact. And in fact, I think it is intellectually dishonest for people who have played the game to claim otherwise. I think it is shameful and petty opportunism to try to explain away personal failure and frustration related to the Patriots.

Dang dude, I'm on your side in the sense that this is being ridiculously blown out of proportion, but this post is friggin' crazy. Zero impact? For real? Wow. I don't even know where to begin.

In fact, not going to even bother. You're wrong.

The end.

Not in the bet, but I don't agree. All of you should take either 3 months or 6 months. No reason for gk to take double the punishment without getting points. If the bet is a money-line bet, keep the punishments the same.

My 4 (NY) teams have won more championships than your four teams, including during our lifetimes. So spare me.

And that's with little to no help from the Knicks! You win with one team tied behind your back, lol!

I get defensive and maybe resort to hyperbole a bit. There is probably a negligible effect. But I honestly do not believe there is any kind of substantive advantage.

I proposed a bet amendment over in the Banned Users thread if you're interested. I'll give you guys 3 pts in exchange for reducing my punishment to 3 months if I lose.

Eh, you're a legit poster, don't do it. I hate it that this issue is making me expand my ignore list, ESP. With posters I used to respect, but you should use yours, too...

Have you even been a MOD long enough to vest that much vacation time?

I missed the first half of that press conference just now but it sounds like Bill Belicheat went from knowing nothing about ball pressure to knowing everything about it in 48 hours.

People are going to have their minds made up one way or another. But, I thought he did a very good job there.

Also, BB talking about how stupid SpyGate was was absolutely awesome.

I've been waiting for him to say that about spygate for 7 years. They have made that argument internally but he'd kept his mouth shut for all this time out of deference for Kraft. The idea that he and the organization have to endure being called cheaters is so absurd and so tragic. I feel like there is a whole segment of supposed football fans that are missing the best coach of all time so they can do their butthurt troll thing. Anyway, he killed it today. If he thought the league could refute anything he said, no way he would come out that strongly unless he really is insane. Pretty much threw down the gauntlet. Should have done that after spygate, but lesson learned apparently.

I can relate. How much did anyone know about this a few days ago? Now I feel like a borderline expert. If you're a bright guy and your livelihood and reputation depend on figuring it out, how much time do you need? It isn't brain surgery.

I meant that Thursday he said he's never had any involvement in ball preparation and didn't know the first thing about ball inflation but today he comes out and says well actually we do this and that to the balls before we give them to officials. Is it possible he didn't know about all that before? Sure. But for a guy so meticulous about game preparation and how his team is run that seems unlikely to me.
