I hope he doesn't make that bama visit. Anyone know if that's official?

He didn't mention that in any of the interviews I've seen recently. My take is UCLA OV then BK in-home are the only two big factors going forward. Obviously could change but I would think he would've talked about that more if it were happening.

Side note: UCLA 247 mod went into a rather long post about how Alize is basically soft. They are trying to soften the blow of losing him. Good sign for us.

Aaahahahaha that's great, F those losers.

Let's go Jones!

My mistake, I thought he was a participant for the first 2-3 practices.

This is the ultimate insult to an athlete. Coming from one of their mods probably doesn't carry much weight with him...which he probably wouldn't have seen. But good mods get their takes from somewhere.

I have not gone back far enough to see if this is a joke/sarcasm of a post, but if it is not, Colin Cowherd talked about Bama's, and specifically Lane Kiffin's, use of the tight end in his offense. Anyone heard from OJ Howard this year?? If he actually considered this, someone should cue up Cowherds show from Jan 2nd.

I can clear that up for you.

After ND's banquet he said he's planning an OV to Bama in January. But since then, nobody's heard anything about it, hence the post.

Thank you for clearing that up.

In that Cowherd segment, he also talked about how little the TE's developed or were used when Kiffin was at USC, and he talked about how poor Kiffin was on 3rd down, perfect TE down, so if he is even considering it, Jones should call the witness protection people and check if they have seen OJ Howard!!

I hear you and I agree he'd not be utilized well at Bama, but it's still Bama and still a NFL factory. Alize is all about going to the league, and Bama's facilities and non-existent course load can be attractive for someone who just wants the NFL.

It's not like Blake Barnett is a great fit for Saban's offense, and is a better fit for ND's, or Oregon's for that matter... But Bama can sell itself even when it doesn't make the most sense for your position. Not to mention, if Saban gives him $50K to sign, that's something to think about too.

I'm not saying he's going to Bama if he makes that visit, but I don't doubt Bama's closing ability on anyone.

Bama churns out their share, but they're not that strong in putting certain positions in the NFL including TE & QB. A smart kid which it appears Jones is will take that into strong consideration like he is in his softening on UCLA.

Would think so. If he's smart enough to realize he wouldn't be utilized well at UCLA, he's smart enough to realize he wouldn't be utilized well at Bama. Bama doesn't scare me on this one. It's not as if this has been a three way race all along. It's always been us and UCLA. That's how it will finish IMO. I like where we stand.

My issue is that we seem to be putting out NFL players almost or even just as well as Bama, and our prospects seem to be doing better than there's. I do agree about the course load and facilities. I really wish ND would finally put some money into improving the football facilities.

Umm, I don't know about that. ND's guys are doing well, but so are Bama's.

Our players may be doing well in the NFL but Bama players get to compete for a NC almost every year and don't lose more than 1 game most years. The weather is nice most of the year and the academics are not as rigorous. And they also put a lot of players in the NFL each year. It's understandable for high school kids to be infatuated with Alabama these days.

I'm not saying players shouldn't be looking at Alabama, but they should be looking at ND as well. The proof is in the pudding. Our NFL player output is on par with Bama, and this is with less talent, so that says a good bit more. The weather and scene in Tuscaloosa isn't something to write home about. It's a meh town, with decent weather except the summer, which is BRUTAL. I'm sorry, but I'd rather live through 20 degree winters than 100 summers any day of the week.

The main problem is that many recruits can't wrap their head around the idea that they may NOT make it in the league. And where does that leave them 10 years later?

They've got DeMeco Ryans, Julio Jones, Andre Smith, Roman Harper, Kareem Jackson and Dont'a Hightower. Dareus was good, but he can't seem to stay out of trouble.

We've got John Sullivan, Harrison Smith, Derek Landri, Kyle Rudolph, Golden Tate, Justin Tuck, Zack Martin, Anthony Fasano, John Carlson, Tyler Eifert, and Michael Floyd.

I'd say our list is little better, but I may be missing a few from Bama's end. Those are just the one's I found.

If the Colts had an impact player on the DL and a better than average RB, lookout.
Happy they made it to the final 4, but just can't see them moving on from next week. I hope to hell I'm wrong. Go Colts.

Per BGI, Booker will be at BG on Thursday to Alize just prior to his visit to UCLA. Then we have a BK in-home post UCLA.
