Eclipsed over 1,000 yards tonight. Of course, he could have had more if he didn't drop a few passes, but he put together a great season despite only being a sophomore.

Fuller (along with Folston) has been one of the offensive bright spots this year. Didn't expect it, but nice to see.

Definite bright spot of the season. He's definitely a breakout candidate next year if his hands improve. I mean, All-American candidate breakout.

Great season but disappointing to see his drop today and being a part of the receiving group that kind of just gave up.

There were two times today he broke away and was open and Golson either didn't see or led him out of bounds. I'm still excited to see how his career turns out.

This kid is the "Quick & Fast" player type everyone talks about. Cuts like a razor and then blows by you. Usually catches everything.

This is how you set yourself up for disappointment.

Maybe so, but its not completely out of the realm or possibility. In fact, assuming the usual suspects declare early (Cooper, Boyd..... etc), there are only 3 players who came into today having more yards OR touchdowns than Fuller that would likely be back next year. So that actually makes it likely to at least make an honorable mention for a preseason all american team. So, yea I guess you could be set up for disappointment when reasonable expectations aren't met. However, its not a highly improbable scenario that warrants to be instantly shot down with a pessimistic response such as a scenario of a poster praising Folston as a potential all american or something would be.

Sucks that such a talent is on a shitty team.

Are you not aware of what has gone on this season with injuries, suspensions, etc? Both sides of the ball have been almost completely devoid of upperclassmen (especially defense) for the last third of the season. It's a small miracle that they have even been in positions to win most of the last 4 or five games given the decimation on the roster. Fuller certainly has been a bright spot and hopefully he improves his hands. He could've had a huge game yesterday if not for a couple drops and some poor throws.

I would imagine his route running needs to improve as it does with most young receiver's and he has to work on his hands. Not just yesterday but several times throughout the season we saw him just flat out drop a ball. Concentration is one part of it but also learning to catch with 'soft hands'.

If DD does come back, look out. The WR corps is gonna be in terrific shape. With the way Zaire was able to come in and run the read/option much better and be able to lead, we can expect better things to come offensively. Truth be told, offensively is not where I'm worried..its defensively.

Not even close to a #1 IMO. Look at Ben Coats, Amari Cooper, Tredwell when healthy, Nelson Agholor, those are #1s.

Certainly has the qualities, but IMO, to become a Legit #1 he needs to add more strength and more consistency in catching the ball with the right technique.

Agree.

I said this before. Daniels had the body and hands to be that #1 go to receive. Could have really used him this past season.

You mean Sammie Coates.

And I completely agree.

I think you guys are taking "#1 receiver" to mean "All American" based off those names, which in my understanding is not what it means. I always took it as your go-to receiver who was pretty clearly a notch above the rest on your team, not that he had to necessarily be a Bilitnikof finalist. Most teams have a #1 receiver IMO, not just a handful. By that definition, it's pretty clear that Fuller has been a #1 caliber this year.

Glad I read to the end for once, you saved me a rant. His production puts him in the top 20 of all receivers in the country. If he's not a #1 then there are less than 20 #1's in all of college football. That's all schools and 4/5 years of recruiting classes.

There are over 100 DI programs where Fuller is their #1.

Will Fuller is an exceptional talent and every Notre Dame fan should be giving thanks that we have him, rather than picking at his game. Will Fuller terrorizes opposing DCs who often have to bend their DBackfields out of shape to keep him [as Kelly characterizes it] from taking the top off of their defense.

and.... why do we care whether he is the number 1 receiver in the country or in the top 20? He's a defense killer either way. If he had more competent teammates in certain critical positions [QB plus another lineman or two] around him, who can calculate what his numbers would be this year?

He is not a legit number one. He drops way to may easy passes and sometimes I think he half asses some routes. He is a good receiver and electric in the open field though.

IMO

Agree. As I've been saying this offense missed a true number one this year.
Most likely the role Daniels would have filled.

Fuller is a wonderful sophomore wr for us. He has fantastic speed. However all golson does is stare him down and throw it to him 70% of our passing attempts. Browns numbers will spike and be similar to fullers under Zaire.

So it's been announced and determined Zaire is starting next year.

Daniels showed flashes of greatness and is an incredible talent. I never saw a good work ethic nor consistency in his game to make me believe he would have been that go to receiver we all see him as when our green colored glasses are on.

He had the best chance to be the number one. He also is a big WR with good hands.
