It is hard for me to watch this on television because you never get an unbiased viewpoint, and everything is slanted in a certain direction to support an agenda.
I try hard to be unbiased in situations like this, especially if I couldn't possibly understand the rationale behind it. I definitely do not support rioting and destroying public property for any reason whatsoever, and it shouldn't be condoned by anyone imo.
With that being said, I am not going to demonize any individual for taking part in this kind of activity not knowing their emotional state. I say this because I have seen it first hand being deployed in Iraq with a unit of grunts. Everyday we were deployed and dealing with brothers being killed or injured and being sent home by the enemy, the more and more the lines became skewed between who was good and bad. Some would feel as though we were being targeted by everyone and could not trust anyone, and were even told as much by senior officials on many occasions. As time progressed, you would may see some individuals destroying or even desecrating someones property. Many didn't feel this was a wrong behavior because they were most likely the enemy, when in all actuality they probably weren't. What I am saying is that sometimes emotional distress and feeling as though there is no where to turn may cause individuals to lash out in ways that would seem irrational. That is precisely because it is, but in the individuals mind it seems rational because of the circumstances.
I am not saying that any of this makes what is happening with riots, and destroying property right. I am simply stating that I am not going to demonize anyone not knowing the circumstances.
