Well, it has been a tough year for Mr. and Mrs. GO IRISH!!! As many of you know, we put down my dog of 16 years in February and then put down my wife's dog of 15 years in July. We had never had a time in our entire relationship where we didn't have dogs. The house was really quiet with out the pitter-patter of little paws running around.

Even though we still miss both our dogs terribly, we decided to start looking at adopting another dog once we got back from our 10 year anniversary trip. I went and looked at our local animal shelter and saw this little guy. A few days later, I brought my wife by to see him. I didn't tell her much about him because I wanted her to form her own opinions and she fell in love with him right away.

He was a surrender and he is 2 years old and completely trained. His family had to give him up because they were forced to move to an apartment that didn't allow dogs. His name was Ozzy, but we didn't feel like he looked like an "Ozzy" so we changed his name to Freddy. He is such a good boy. He has fit in so well and is so well behaved. He hasn't made a single mess and he doesn't chew up anything. It is so nice to have the love and joy of a dog in our house again. We plain to get at least one more in the near future, but for right now, it is all about Freddy.

So, I thought it would be fun to post your pics of your dog.

Sorry, ACamp, no cats please.

This is my dog Missy. She is 1 year old this month. I never understood people's relationships and feeling toward their dogs. After getting her I totally understand it now.

Here is a crappy picture of my Wife's dog Sookie.

At any given time there are as many as three rescued foster dogs staying with us also.

That's a good-looking dog bro! Happy for you guys. But you needed to show the other tat of your dog in that picture. Old school to new school.

nlroma10 has a beautiful husky that I'm sure he'll be showcasing once he sees this thread. He'll take his husky tailgating from time to time. Man's best friend...

Condolences on the loss, man! I can't even imagine losing my boys! It's going to be a tough day for sure.

Here's my boys. Gunner is a 4 y/o rescued lab/dachshund mix. Remington (Remy) is a 1 y/o pure bred beagle. Love them to death even when the pup is a lunatic.

I thought there were going to be different pictures in here. Apparently I thought there was an "n" in dog.

Lost our 7 year old, Lizzie, suddenly in the middle of the night to bloat. Really tore the kids up when we found her.

Picture was taken just three days before she died. Still have this little crap, Angel, who was suddenly very lonely.

IrishinTN - so sad for you and your family. Congrats on the new little one. Maybe our dogs will get to play together when we make our move to Nashville next year.

That's tough. We lost an Irish Setter to bloat about 35 years ago. Happened overnight just like yours.

We had to put down our Bloodhound a couple of months ago. She was ravaged with cancer and basically starving herself. Our Redbone still misses her friend and regularly goes out in back where she's buried.

It's definitely rough to lose them. Our little doxy (yes, she is 100% miniature doxy, just a piebald so looks like a long snoopy) still runs down the steps in the morning to look for her. Getting Roxy has really helped, though.

My wife wants to get another dog for Ruby, but at our age it's so much easier now with one and I'm not up to house breaking another dog. lol
