Ole Miss at 4 is a joke and I don't understand MSU being ahead of us. But you have to remember we haven't beaten anyone. We have one loss it's not like we are undefeated. It's pretty simple if we win out we will be in
Considering how many PAC12 affiliated people are on the committee, should we be surprised?
I know its early, but this sure seems like a system that fucks Notre Dame. How MSU could be above us is beyond comprehension, and Ole Miss being in the top 4 is a freaking joke. LSU was the 24th (AP) ranked team in the country until they beat Ole Miss, now they move up and Ole Miss stays in the top 4? Unreal... The deck is stacked for the SEC. All they have to do is not lose to their cupcakes and the best records of their conference go no matter what. Total horse$hit.

Neither has fucking michigan state.
Who is Jeff Long and what did he say?
In all actuality this is actually set up in our favor. 4 or 5 of the top 9 will play each other and work themselves out. This may just be above our intellect at this time.

I figured 7. Anything outside of top 10 would be wrong. We are not a top 4 team right now. Win at FSU and it's different.
Who did Mich St. beat to put them up ahead of us?
Reposting - What did Jeff Long say?
Timing of the committee rankings hurt ND... The rankings were done this week, which was a BYE week for the Irish... so there was nothing fresh in the committee's minds. If the rankings were done last week, the media momentum and thought process would probably have ND closer to #5 committee ranking... instead people's memories have already moved on from that Florida State game.
That being said I definitely was shocked to see us at 10. Thought 8 at worst.
I'm not sure we would've made the top 4 if we beat FSU. We lost on the last play in what is a debatable call.
Michigan, by a smaller margin, gave up points, and didn't look good doing it. Plus they got waxed by the #5 team and we narrowly lost to the #2 team on amd debatable call.
We have a better resume than MSU period. On one side, they made it clear that who you beat matters. But when it came to MSU, they didn't call it that way.
I have no idea why a panel full of people with no clear protocol and no prerequisites is allowed to be the final word on this. Christ... sitting AD's are on the freaking committee making judgement calls about the teams that decide their own career fate. No one thought this was a bad idea? Really?
