I agree with you regarding coaches. But I was simply pointing out Franklin's hypocrisy in calling out someone else for reneging on a commitment.
Not necessarily disagreeing, but I am curious why you think coaches should get a pass on this? I understand that sometimes the universities involved prefer to disseminate that info but that fact, doesn't make it any less of a lie if the coach tells his team the opposite of what he knows to be true. There is the option of simply refusing to discuss that topic with your players.
I just don't think you should be comparing the lives of a head coach to a 17 year old recruit. Both are doing what they feel is best for themselves. A coach for example, is trying to put himself in the best possible situation for him and his family. Whether it be for more money, higher profile, better location, better situation, etc.
People move around the job world all the time when something better opens up. A coach is allowed to do that as well. Most have stipulations in their contract you don't hear about that forces them to pay back some amount of money to the school.
A kid is in a different situation. Now, I do believe it should be easier for kids to transfer schools. I don't think its fair to hold them out for a year and if a coach that recruited them leaves, then I think they should be allowed to leave as well for a better situation.
Comparing head coaches to recruits is apples to oranges to me.
