I guess there's a rule the band can only play so long once they reset the play clock, after one warning there's a penalty. There was one warning.
No disagreement there. I was referring to the the times they got pushed back or made contact, but couldn't get any movement where strength and leverage come into play. The planned QB draw is the best example. Great call by BK and it looked like EG could pick up a huge chunk until Elmer got handled.
Thanks

I don't know if this video of Koyack's catch has been posted. This video has an excellent view of the play and sheer pandemonium afterwards.

All right! Since everyone keeps talking about it. The play everyone keeps referring to is the designed quarterback draw that Kelly called. Yes, Elmer looked terrible when the camera showed him on that play. But he had a defender moving to where a defender saw the stationary quarterback on that play. The hole had been open. And was open long enough for Golson to make it through. But Golson really hesitated too long on that one. Elmer, not having a clue as to what was going on at that time, let the defender walk around him. Which would have been fine if the quarterback was headed up field. But he wasn't. So the whole thing looked stupid. But it was an all involved, not just Elmer!
I think everyone is being too hard on the offensive line when it comes to pass protection. Many of the pocket breakdowns were the result of Golson dancing around and changing the pursuit angle of the defender to one that the linemen weren't expecting. I'm not blaming Golson for this per se, but it's something that happens when you have a QB who wiggles around back there.
That said, I think the run blocking criticism is very fair.
Sadly, I've been accused of such nonsense sentiment many times with no italics.so basically you want Tommy Rees back?![]()

Q. Good afternoon, Coach. It seems with the realignment of the offensive line, you last week had to go into a bit of a frying pan with Syracuse and the different looks they presented. Then go into the fryer was Stanford with their defense. What's been your assessment of how that realignment has gone? I know you said on the last possession they really started picking up some of the combinations and all. After reviewing the tape, where do you think the line is at this point?
COACH KELLY: We got stronger as the game went along. I think Steve Elmer did some very good things as the game went on. Anderson, 91, is very difficult to handle. Elmer was able to block him one on one late in the game, which was huge for us. Nobody else has been able to do that. Hanratty was able to do some things in pass pro later in the game that he had missed earlier. So there was some progress made there.
anyone explain why cam was in so much? I love the kid but was disappointed we didnt see more of the other guys.
3. Im a fan of McDaniel, but I think we all know that Bryant is a stud back. With that said how can we expect him to progress and get production with only a few carries a game. McDaniel is a fierce back who will get those tough yards, but there is no home run factor there. Bryant needs his carries, and this team needs to develop some sort of a running game.
Cam is the most decisive back and best pass blocker. He's also deceptively strong and breaks a lot of tackles. My humble opinion is that he was the best back to use against the Stanford D
OL: This is a problem. Back to back great recruiting classes and this is as good as ND can do? Are none of the OL from the '13 class good enough to replace Hegarty? Thank goodness for Ronnie Stanley. My patience with Steve Elmer is being tested.
Does anyone have audio from the radio call on Koyack's winning TD? Would love to hear Pinkett's call...
BK's comments about the offensive line and specifically Elmer. Contrary to what most of us believe, he seems very happy with Elmer.
