8-4 still got the nastiness part of our schedule and a lot of question marks.

8-4 to 10-2 I still sit on my prediction though I'm leaning towards 10-2. The team has a lot of grit and is to naive to give up.

We have no running game outside of Golson which will hurt us in a couple games. I see a loss to FSU and probably USC or one WTF game.

9-3. One win more than I originally had. We lose to Stanford, FSU, and one more.

I'll stick with 8/4 adding southern cal (notice small caps ) and one more between L'ville ,Carolina, ASU. This team DOES make me proud of my Irish-smart,game college guys. Coaching has been outstanding. The schedule is a bear and they can not loose anymore to injuries

I think I said 11-1 with the loss to FSU. No reason to bail now.

I went 11-1 because Louisville, UNC, and USC are not nearly as good as I initially believed pre-season. USC was a potential loss and the other two were trap games IMO. I think we handle all of them with a potential loss/win at FSU and ASU between them.

Well played because that seems real. I'll go 10-2 with 9-3 being the floor now. Really impressed with Golson overall and I think he wins us 1 game on his own. Stanford and USC losing is really hurting our schedule credibility.

Anyone hear the severity of Taylor Kelly's (ASU) injury? Cause he's awesome.

This is the first time since I started really watching ND football (2007) that I'm actually enjoying watching the games. Golson, even on an off-day is extremely entertaining to watch, and our defense gambles, but when they gamble correctly, it's fun as hell to watch. The last few years, if we were in a close game against an inferior team, it was usually a feeling of dread and then relief but annoyance at only winning by single digits and hearing "It's hard to win games". I don't think we'll ever be completely out of a game, and as long as we stay within 10 points of FSU, I'm fine with a close loss to Stanford and a 10-2 finish.

10-2.

FSU and USC I think are our toughest competitors and the only ones we have the possibility to losing to. Even if we lose, its going to be a close one because I think we'll give them a good run for their money

I hate to be cliche but there are no gimme games. I can definitely acknowledge that much. I just think EG is one helluva QB and the right pieces on offense are there. I believe in BVG's defense and think he is worlds better then Diaco. I also like what we have on D. The schedule also isn't as daunting as what it once was. (I never bought into it to begin with as I had 11-1 before the season started.)

Purdue has become a tough out against ND regardless of how they are doing, so I'm not going to hit the panic button just yet. The Michigan game showed me this team can be very good when motivated and ready to execute.

Think I had 7-5 preseason, and I'm buying in now at 10-2, with blowout losses at FSU and ASU.
?? Is their QB going to be back by then? Even if he is I don't see this team getting blown out by anybody.

I am a little concerned about the OL, only because Kelly sounded concerned at today's teleconference. He was talking about meeting with Hiestand and maybe shuffling some guys around. Sounds like like they have settled on the 7 best linemen (last night's starters plus Lombard and McGlinchey) but they aren't sure they have the right guys playing the right positions.

But assuming they solve that problem and start getting a little more push up front, I see no reason to revise expectations downward. We are a young, hungry, dangerous team, and the sky is the limit.

Put McGlinchy at RT and Elmer at LG. Even if McGlinchy whiffs a few times Golson will see the blitzer off his edge. With 2 really good guards we'd get a better push running.

I think FSU is very overrated. Not Saying that means we beat them, but not as huge of a test as many are imagining. Of course, they could really improve over the next month or so. They will still be our toughest game- away, right after midterms (traditionally a 'down' week)- but I'd not sold. With games vs. Stanford, USC, UNC, and ASU, I'd say we go 3-2 in these games for a 10-2 record.

Lombard out to tackle and bring Elmer in to guard.

Stanley. Hanratty. Martin. Elmer. Lombard.

I originally predicted 11-1, think we will have one letdown outside of FSU.
