Anyone know of a place to get deals on old NES games??

Flea market. Thats where I started collecting. You're going to get the best prices typically as many sellers (not all) won't know what games are actually worth. Plus, if you buy games in bulk, you can often negotiate better prices on the merchandise.

I'm up to 600+ NES games now, and probably about 400 of them came from the flea market. The other 100-200 came from Ebay, old rental stores that kept games stored away, and collections I bought off buddies.

If you're looking for a particular game, I probably don't have a duplicate of it (I got rid of a lot of duplicates a few years ago). I CAN tell you what many of the games are worth though, or how rare they really are. Just remember that rare games can sometimes be found in greater quantities in certain regions. Sometimes it call comes down to luck. Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh, and as far as games I'm playing right now, I've been kicking around Fallout 1 and 2 the last few days. Theres a sale on Steam for $12 for all 3 of the original games (FO1, FO2, FO Tactics). I'm finding that it's much easier to just install using Steam rather than trying to tweak my old install disks to play the games.

I've also been playing Guns of Icarus Online, which is a fun little steampunk-ish zeppelin game where you and a crew do battle with other players in the skies.

I've also done a little Star Wars Galaxies Emu.

I tried out Rust, but it got old after a few weeks. At some point the game always devolves into raiding other people's bases and protecting your own. Not much of an end game if you ask me, the NPCs are pathetically easy too.

7 Days to Die is pretty fun. It's a zombie survival game and very similar to Minecraft as far as the crafting goes. The zombies pose a very real risk however...and theres nothing like having 30-50 zombies banging on your walls and doors at night as you try to fight them off from the roof and stay alive.

Has anyone on here discovered the crack cocaine that is Hearthstone? Please try it. I resisted for a long time despite it being free and getting amazing reviews because it didn't seem like my thing. I was so wrong. It's my game of the year so far. If you have a PC or iPad you really should give a shot even if you don't think you'll like it. Just play the tutorial!

I'm glad you bumped this thread. I've been playing Crazy Taxi for the Sega Dreamcast and Grandia 2 for the Sega Dreamcast.

It was sooo broken in the beta. Something about card games turns me off too.

Downloaded Payday 2 from a Steam sale a week ago. Pretty fun game. It's a FPS that allows you to skill up as you complete heists. You can pursue stealthy skills, or enforcer/tank skills to improve your character, technical skills like drilling into safes, or become a mastermind which allows you to buff other heist buddies. You can use the money from heists to do things like buy masks, guns, or gun upgrades.

I also downloaded Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics in a Steam sale, which I think is still going on. I had all 3 games on disk, but they were a pain in the ass to get working on Windows 7 64 bit, so it's nice to be able to just install them from the Cloud with no configurations or community created patches/mods to make it work.

It's kind of a long video (9:00) but it really gives a great idea of what this game is all about.

I'm having more fun than I've had in years. (I'd suggest clicking on it so you can bump it up to 720p if you can)

That game looks a lot like the new Star Citizen game, looks pretty cool.

I'm still fiddling around with Payday 2 here and there. I picked up State of Decay on a Steam sale a few weeks ago. It's a short zombie apocalypse survival game, single player only. I got it for $5, so I can't complain. There's story missions involved that give your character(s) choices, and of course the choices you make will determine who lives and dies. You can ally yourself with other survivors and help each other out, or you can help survivalists with no morals and watch the rest of the world burn. You can skill up melee and/or shooting skills as you're scavenging through busted houses looking for weapons, food, and medicine. You can move your home base to various locations and build up your defenses or research improvements for your community. You can also establish small outposts that help deter zombie hordes from running amok around your home base. It's a cool little game, although a bit short. I haven't tried the DLC for it yet, I got the DLC packs for $2 each while they were on sale as well.

Other than that, I've been playing Fallout New Vegas again in between games. I'm running through as a Legion character right now, melee only. Sometimes it's fun to be bad.

War Thunder is a lot of fun. I haven't played it in awhile, but I've got a lot of old flight sim buddies that enjoy it. There's something inherently fun about upgrading a plane and pushing up a ladder to better tiers and aircraft.

As it is with most flight sims, having an altitude advantage seems to be very helpful. Altitude can help you increase speed when you dive down for an attack, and having an altitude advantage over an attacker means he has to lose speed to try and climb to your level.

Yup. Except that it's already in full Beta (Scheduled for release in December) and Star Citizen doesn't have much of a 'game' right now. It's truly a golden age for Space Sims, and I'm an early backer of both.

It's incredible how little pub Elite is getting here in the States. They've faithfully generated over 50,000 star systems you can travel to, and they will have over 400,000,000,000 proceduraly generated for the full release. Every single star in the Milky Way will be available... if you can get there in your lifetime. (which is 100% percent impossible.)

It's really a marvel of a thing.

Sorry about that.

I'm thinking I'll sell it in a year or so after I get my fill of Titanfall and Halo, then grab a PS4.

I'm at a point in my gaming life where I wanted a change from Sony for a bit. Having access to Halo again felt good at the time, but we'll see what kind of XBox issues I have that end up making me pull the trigger sooner.

The one thing I'm sad I'll miss is the master chief collection. Sounds like the bomb.

I have a seven year old son, so it should be no surprise that I've been playing Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U constantly for the past two months.

It's a fun game, though. As someone who grew up during the Super Mario peak of the early to mid 90's, all the video games I ever really enjoy are the Super Mario Bros games. My Super Nintendo still works and I still have it hooked up and play it to this day. I'll be pretty heartbroken when it finally breaks down some day...
