Not sure what article this came from so I'll just post Jamir's tweet with a screenshot.

It was from a 247 article that Tom Loy put up from the Columbus NFTC where they went over each, ND related, recruits performance. Wiltfong and Loy have been fairly positive on what they think Jamir can be going forward. He'll have a lot more tape from playing D this upcoming season so it will be interesting to see how he does.

Won't be able to make it to II but will be on campus the week after to workout for the staff. Loy expects an offer to come at that time.

Ok... here is my issue with Jamir. Hear me out here... I do like him, but I just don't know if we should take his commitment.

I take my opinion from Jarron's development. He took a very long time to turn into a guy that you can depend on to start. You could arguably say that he still isn't there, although I am high on him this season. Now, Jarron has 5 Star measurables and skills. His brother Jamir seemingly does not. If they are similar in how they develop, then I just don't know if Jamir would ever be a contributor on the team. Thoughts?

from things i have read, jamir seems to be different in terms of being motivated...he just has it and doesn't need to continue to have a fire lit under him like brother

From the little i have heard so far... i would agree with this. He apparently seems to "get after it" on a more consistent level.

Somebody buy that kid some shoulders.

Jamir has added about 50 pounds since basketball season and looks good shockingly. He is right arond 230 and around 180 for basketball season. He does have a frame similar to Jarron where he can hold weight and really fill out to play DE. But, he is definitely more of a speed/athletic guy that Jarron tries to be at times.

Similar to his brother, he's behind in terms of physical development compared to his peers/other BCS level recruits. I'm with Wooly in thinking we should wait.

Is there a chance he fills out like Jarron and ends up being a DT down the road? 6'2 has to be on the shorter end of DEs ND is recruiting right?

What's the number of DEs ND is taking this year? I thought it was 3 before the Wallace news broke. So is it still 3 or is it 4 now? If it's 4 I have no problem with them grabbing Jones now and aiming for some higher profile guys after since they seem to be behind on most of the big Midwest targets now.

Got to keep the bloodlines and offer him.

I hate not offering brothers of current players. I think it may engender resentment from the older brothers and it cuts against our reputation as a school that takes care of its own.

That being said, I think its in both our and Jamir's interest to hold off on offering right now. I just don't think he has the type of talent required for him to see the field at ND. If he takes a big leap this year and the staff thinks he could be a real contributor down the line, then by all means offer him. But as it currently stands there appears to be a significant talent gap between Jamir and the LBs we've recruited in the last several cycles.

Offer because individual deserved it and would be a positive addition, not because of who he is related to.

Don't care if he deserves it or not. Got to keep it all in the family.

I totally agree, he is athletic can play multiple positions and plays hard so let's not offer him and see him go somewhere else and produce.
