The last time I attended a Chicago Cubs game, Ernie Banks was still playing shortstop, before his move to first base. Transportation cost to the game was a Chicago Transit Authority token(thirteen cents). Often the price of admission would stay in our pants - a relative cop or Andy Frane usher would wave us through a gate. With early attendance, we would acquire at least one scuffed baseball from batting/fielding practice. At the start of the game, we would sit in box seats, until late arrivals, purchased tickets in hand, would call for an usher to shag our asses to general admission. The brand of baseball the Chicago Cubs were playing, at the time, was not worth the price of admission. This assessment still holds true today. Back then, it would take a player like Willie Mays to make the game interesting for Cub fans. Playing a shallow center field, Willie would race to the wall for a ball over his head, loosing his cap, to make a basket catch of a routine fly ball. For how many years have the Chicago Cubs failed to play .500 baseball? If you have nothing better to do with your time, and money, go attend a Chicago Cubs baseball game.
