Agreed. Dunno how how you can say 4 of our 5 DBs are on Taylor's level. Staff took their time with evaluation and Michigan did their normal early pressure recruiting under Mattison/Hoke.

Kids are trying to wrap up the process way too early these days, IMO. But when you try to take your time like Reid then you lose your spot. Catch-22.

NCAA needs to let kids start taking official visits before their senior year, IMO. And should (but they won't) increase the number of OVs a kid can take.

You lost me here. I just don't see how anyone can be seriously considering more than 5 schools. Otherwise, agreed.

Yea, but is it necessarily fair to make kids limit themselves to only considering 5 schools they have not visited? They may have loved another school if they got the chance to visit, or they may find they hate a school once they do visit.

well hopefully it forces them to actually do a little research on the school before settling on the 5..

lots of crystal ball movement on 247 switching to Michigan.

Hoke sure can recruit his ass off. Too bad he's such a shitty gameday coach. If Michigan wasn't sucking ass in 2012 and 2013, there's no doubt in my mind the guys recruiting classes would be insane. You can only sell BS so much, have to actually win games and compete for B1G championships and BCS games.

A self-loathing meatchicken fan. Finally, one I can get behind!

Aren't you worried about this class imploding if Hoke does get canned? I would be concerned about some of the recruits being in love with his personality rather than the school. Maybe not though.

Ha! I'm not self-loathing, just a realist. Hoke can't coach his way out of a paper-bag on gameday and I think it's an absolute joke that he doesn't wear a headset. As long as he has the right staff and co-ordinators, I think he can be successful for the most part though.

The defensive staff is actually pretty good, and has done some nice things in 3 seasons despite not having the best talent to work with. They've had a few nice pieces, but for the most part depth and talent was really lacking. I think the
defensive talent is really on the verge of catching up to the quality of the coaching and I expect them to only get better. There's some really nice young talent on that side of the ball.

The offense on the other hand had some really nice pieces the past 3 years and just regressed every year under Borges. The offensive statistical output was actually superior under Rodriguez. I don't think Borges should've been the only offensive coach canned, the OL coach Darrell Funk hasn't proven anything at all in 3 seasons and the RB coach Fred Jackson is a dinosaur that's been here for 30 years and is just collecting a paycheck at this point- he checked out years ago. If Hoke was smart he'd fire Jackson and hire Mike Hart from WMU asap. I really think it's kind of BS to just pin it all on Borges. Not that I'm a fan of Borges, he needed to go, but the OL and RB's have under-performed the last 3 seasons, and that's not all just on Borges.

As for Hoke getting fired, that's always a big worry, if the coach gets fired recruiting classes tends to fall apart. Thing is though, I don't think he's in danger of losing his job this year. The schedule is pretty sorry and he should squeeze out another 8 win season. YAY!!!! :/

Hoke is pizza boys guy. Pizza boy is going to give him 5 years at least and he ain't firing him unless he absolutely has to. I don't think 8 wins will be enough to put the pressure on pizza boy to fire him. Hoke will need to get piss drunk in public and dance on tables like Gary Moeller or win like 3-4-5 games like Rodriguez.

I think 2015, year 5 is going to be Hoke's hot-seat year.

Truth is Mattison is really good coach. And he can still sell the Ravens angle. And he's a great recruiter. That's why Michigan continues to pull good-to-great defensive talent each year.

I have no words for how bad Michigan's OL has been despite lots of "talented" pieces to work with. And the offense, as a byproduct, is just wildly inconsistent.

Brady Hoke is a horrible "coach" in the sense of actually doing anything. But he seems to be endearing from the the "CEO" standpoint and Brandon is too proud to admit failure and try to move on to another guy.

As an aside, Brandon is a cunt.

pretty much agree with everything there, especially the part about Brandon. He's a Jerry Jones wannabe. I can't stand the guy, wish he would go back to hawking shitty pizza.

I still don't understand how the OL was so crappy last year with a pair of 5th year seniors on the book-ends, arguably the best offensive tackle tandem in the B1G and one of the top few in the entire country.

Lewan went #11 overall and would've went top 5 if he wasn't such a pos off the field and Schofield went in the 3rd round. Both were All-Conference. Glasgow was a RS Soph. who started a few games in 2012, and a cadre of 5* and 4* recruits at guard. I know the guards were young, but DAMN. I guarantee you if you gave Hiestand that same bunch in 2013 they wouldn't suck ass that bad. My money is on them being a pretty solid unit actually. Coaching matters. A lot.

Kinda torn, we aren't really playing UM anymore and I hate the $EC almost as much as Michigan. Kind of a wash IMO.

I don't think he committed to Michigan. Think Michigan is the favorite but until he pledges that's one thing, then they have to hold onto him.

But yeah, Lewis is listed at 6-0, 194 at Rivals and Taylor is listed at 6-1, 188. Both are in the top 100. That's a pretty impressive two year haul when you factor in Peppers in 2014 who is listed at 6-1, 207. That's nice size at CB.

Yeah, Brandon is a classic case of a guy not getting it... not understanding how substance is what's important, not bells and whistles and tooting your own horn for running 43264528 companies...

Scout: As expected Michigan is at the top. He really connected with Garrett Taylor. Top 3 are Michigan, Miami and Oregon. Won't decide for a little while
