Per rivals. Will be trimming his list to 5 in early August. Has OV's already set to ND and Michigan. Will take all 5 and announce on NSD or maybe an all star game. In state schools have the advantage because of distance. Not that we won't go out of state but that will be a tough decision.

The Wolverines continue to recruit him very hard. Notre Dame is right there as well.

"Every day I'm getting mail from them," he said. "I'm getting DMs from them almost every day too. The coaches there really stand out to me and their commitments have been hitting me up a lot as well, which really helps and it makes me comfortable. With Notre Dame, I'm hearing from their coaching staff quite a bit. They have been reaching out consistently.

But I don't see too many scenarios where he comes to South Bend. Typically so cal recruits who only OV here don't end up here.

Only a thought, but maybe we're a 5b or 6 right now, and he doesn't want to waste an official on a school as close as UCLA.

Either way, I've never gotten the feeling we would end up signing this guy so I'm not too torn up about this one.

Total catch-22: can't expect to make a move without an OV, yet the OV is likely just a colossal waste of the staff's time and resources. I would love for them to say thanks, but no thanks on the visit, yet there is ZERO chance at landing the kid at that point, vs an outside chance with the visit.
