4 months away from Liverpool is at least steeper than his last punishment. With this, that means 10 Premier League games and 3 Champion's League games. He is not even allowed in any soccer facilities at all in that time though, so I imagine that it will take him much longer than that 4 months to get back in the swing of things.

9 games is a joke if it includes friendlies. Ban him 9 games of WC qualifying. That is a real punishment.

WTF FIFA....... WTF.... Its June!!! EPL doesnt even start back up until mid august or sometihng like that. So almost 2 months of his 4 month ban is during a period when his Club team isn't even in season yet!!!! He will be back playing by the end of October.... when he should be done for the rest of 2014 at the minimum!!!

Dude gets hungry during the game. Soccer is an extremely strenuous sport.

Cackalacky-- Was Suarez allowed to practice and attend games with his last suspension? He isn't with this one.

From the limited coverage I was able to follow I believe he was not allowed in Liverpool facilities or to interact in an official capacity on behalf of Liverpool. His last suspension included the last two games of the EPL plus the next 8 games of the EPL and all domestic cup ties. He did not travel with the team during their summer tours as well.

So again, it looks like he will not travel during the summer tour to America and will miss all games associated with Champions league, EPL, and domestic cup ties.

That being said, the last ban he came back in great shape and with a vengeance and would have broken the single season scoring record if he had not missed those 8 EPL games. I fully expect him to be healthy and ready to go by October for whoever he plays for.

Its the 3RD time, so yes, it is THAT much worse IMO.

He's not getting a nine match ban for ALL THREE times, he's getting a nine match ban for THIS time. He's already been suspended for ten and seven matches for the previous incidents. If you're going to make the "three times" argument, you need to include all of his suspensions as well. I think nine matches is more than enough for ONE incident, and 26 matches is appropriate for THREE incidents.
