Jameis Winston Decision 2pm

After watching this go on for a number of days, I see that the argument centers on to provide handlers or not.

I frankly don't care if any other Heisman Trophy winner was provided a butler or hot and cold running women.

This conversation is so far off track.

Fine, if you want to make JW the focus, not the actions, do you think the NFL won'r request JW to submit to an MMPI or other personality test? This guy exhibits classic anti-social behavior. Which quarterback on a high profile team is a magnet for (at least one with boundless athletic potential).

This guy screams I cannot act in a socially acceptable manner, which has almost become the mantra of the over-privileged rise to American athletic professionalism. But the difference is some have a total lack of impulse control, and some are always in control. The later we never publicly see with displays like this, until the "bodies" pile up.

The humorous thing about the latest run is the way JW was looking to avoid the gaze of employees on the floor, and other customers, never realizing they were tracking him from the sky. One person, one expensive item, walking all around the store, they were on him from the get go and he had no idea!

Next course for Heisman winners, how to avoid in store security!

Apparently Tebow intervened or tried to break up a bar fight that Hernandez was involved in, so that might actually be legitimate.

So what your saying is there is 100% chance Tebow prevented more Hernandez murders by intervening. Then again Tebow at a bar, not sure I'm buying that.

There's something wrong with Jameis. He's just so...stupid. For someone who is so talented and makes great football decisions, his decisions off the field are horrendous. The fact that he needs a "handler" makes me think he has the decision making skills and intelligence of a kindergarten kid.

That's an insult to all Kindergarten age kids.

BTW, how much is a full athletic scholarship worth at FSU? $40K, with free rent, lodging, food, bills, etc? How much more free stuff does Winston need?

Beyond shellfish, that is?

I heard the NCAA was getting ready to add crab legs as part of the scholarship package. If only he could have waited.

I can see Dad's point, I bet it's impossible for Jameis to even go grocery shopping without getting bombarded and harassed by fans and autograph seekers. It must be miserable to be him to even try to leave the house.

Oh wait, I just saw three and a half minutes of him walking the aisles of Publix and nobody even tried to approach him. Nice try Mr. Winston.

Fact is Florida State has the millions of dollars and the reputation of the school on the line with Winston. They're pretty stupid not to "protect their investment", from whatever that happens to be. This is why, for example, the NFL has the free limo service 24 hours a day to stop the players from drunk driving. Providing security is a lot cheaper than having to suspend Winston for a year.

The fact is that Jamies Winston is NOT the FSU brand. FSU is not Boise State; they will continue to generate millions in revenue, even if people find out that they have a scumbag on the team. Miami is STILL generating massive amounts of revenue, after all.

Wow, it works to sweep things under the rug until they get too big to maintain control, doesn't it?

i also remember reading that Tebow was told by Urban to hang around Hernandez to be a "mentor" or in other words...to try and keep him out of trouble

And yet, Winston, despite being LISTED as a witness and the one accused of rape is NOT there but playing an utterly meaningless baseball game.

Riiight. Winston was NEVER told to show up by the school despite being THE accused party??

FSU is despicable.

And some people question why so few women come forward when raped, especially on a college campus

1/5 come forward, which means that 80% percent go unreported.

SMH.

Date rape 'most unreported' crime on college campus

Study: Sexual assaults greatly underreported

The research council, noting that some 80 percent of sexual assaults go unreported to law enforcement, recommends the National Crime Victimization Survey adopt new approaches to interviews, including changing the wording of questions.

The survey method, which includes interviews in households, is cited as a major reason for numbers that may be off. In part, the council wants sexual assault described in health terms, not just criminal terms.

The report says that while the survey is generally considered the best source of information on crime, it likely has undercounted sexual assaults for years and falls short of capturing statistics that can be compared from year to year.

Not that FSU gave a $h!t when one of their players shot and raped a girl, so this is not really a surprise, sadly.

I know it's just taking soda, but the fact that he refused to leave the premises and basically coping the attitude of "you can't make me" bothers me. The Burger King had to finally call the cops in hopes of getting him to leave. This kid either reeks of entitlement or he's simply a jackass.

I can say this... there has been several people in JW's life that have tried to keep him grounded through the years. Sadly, he is letting a lot of those people down.

Sadly, the young man will be superficially awarded and artificially rewarded before the house of cards comes tumbling down.

I can only hope that (forthcoming) collateral damage is minimal.

I have read the info, and this is a total fabrication on your part.

Either you didn't really read the information about the case, or you are not a very keen reader. Every professional I have read or spoken to, another professional woman who was a rape victim at FSU, and many commenters on this board, including a Pediatrician with experience in the area have regularly commented that this woman's marked disorientation and loss of specific memory and other reported facts lead them to believe that this was a case where a date rape drug was used. In fact the police refused to test her blood in a timely fashion to determine whether one had been administered.

I am too tired and have too much to do to waste my time with spurious accusations such as this. Someone else can pick it up if they think the density can be penetrated.

I think I am a keen reader. I also think I'm not biased against the police, the south, black people, men, football stars, and FSU. I also don't know why commenters, pediatricians, professional women, and rape victims would know more about evidence of the use of date rape drugs than investigating officers.

Is it possible that she reported this disorientation but that detective Scott Angulo, officer Fallis, and officer Harris did not find it credible?

Which part of Darby's or Casher's statements don't you find credible?

Can the density of this be penetrated? No drugs. Blood alcohol of .048.

Here is the reason why the above mentioned paperwork, if related to the case is irrelevant :

If possible, victims of a DFSA should seek medical care within 72 hours of the assault. After 72 hours it is much less likely that tests will successfully detect the presence of drugs, because most will have become metabolized and eliminated from the body, resulting in a false negative.

Ideally the first urine the victim produces after the assault will be tested for the presence of drugs: if possible, he or she should collect it into a clean container to give to medical authorities.

In addition to urine, medical authorities may take samples of the victim's blood and hair. Hair samples are typically taken 14 days after exposure to the drug (although they may be taken as early as 24 hours), to allow for absorption of the drug into the hair with growth of the hair. Testing of hair can extend the window for date rape drug detection to weeks or even months.

Victims should do their best to describe the effects of the drug, because most laboratories will not do a broad drug screen, and knowing the drug's effects will help law enforcement authorities know which drugs to test for. Advocates for rape victims advise them to tell investigators if they have recently used drugs recreationally because those drugs may be detected in the drug screen, and pre-disclosure will have the least-negative impact on the victim's credibility.

GBH, and other drugs were omitted from the test which there is ample evidence was performed beyond the effective window.

In addition the "rape kit" sat on the shelf for 39 days before it was processed. When it was done Winston DNA was found in the underwear and in her.

The "paperwork" you list does not show any report of the victims genitals, which if you read the actual SANE report, which this is not there is a very accurate description of real damage, very consistent with forcible rape.
