I'm saying 10-6 despite the fact I think Marc Trestman is a clown.

Sunday November 23 Lovie Smith returns to Chicago. As someone who thought Lovie was a fine football coach I'll be conflicted.

Cincinnati on 9/7 and Pittsburgh on 9/11 is a fun way to start the year

I thought it was rather bogus that Seattle and San Fransico don't play till week 13 then play twice in less than 3 weeks.

seattle-san fran playing each other twice within 17 days is kinda lame, this is the premier rivalry in the league right now, should be more spaced out

so does anyone want to explain the scheduling methodology.

how do the raiders get the toughest schedule (based on opponents PY winning %) and the colts get the easiest?

Everyone plays everyone in their division twice in home and homes = 6 games

Everyone division in the NFC plays one division in the AFC (vice versa) = 4 games
In 2014 for exapmple NFC North will play the AFC East.

Everyone NFC division plays everyone from another NFC division and vice versa for the AFC playing a division for the AFC = 4 games. For example in 2014 NFC North will play the NFC West.

1st place team in the division the year prior plays the first place team in the other two conference division it is not playing, 2nd place team the year prior plays 2 other second place teams, 3rd, 4th etc = 2 games.

Raiders probably have the toughest schedule simply based on KC, Denver, and San Diego (all playoff teams) being in their division

While the Colts division sucked last year. Although I expect a much improved Houston Texans team this upcoming season.

The actual team each team plays I think is pretty fair and straight forward with the NFL. Now that doesn't mean things like buy weeks, when you play them, who you get at home and the road doesn't.

Looking at the Pats schedule, my first reaction is that there's about a 2% chance they finish worse than 12-4.

GB, that you?

thanks for the break down my man.

I thought there were more "rating" pairings. Games where the league is trying to create storylines and what not. I guess it just takes care of those things on it's own.
