Yeah, he's so good he's going to get offers and attention from everywhere. And they all know they have to neg recruit Notre Dame. And they will push hard for "just a visit."

But he literally has his walls covered with Irish stuff and is about as solid as it gets for an early commit of his caliber. As long as we don't implode on the field and Kelly stays at the helm I don't envision a scenario where he jumps ship. Maybe that's me being naïve, but especially if USC holds onto Town and UCLA gets Rosen it's just not realistic to see him anywhere else right now. He's currently in position to be the leader of this class and help build it into something great.

Not sure if this was covered or not but I remember a few weeks ago I saw an article headline that ND was still showing interest in that cocky QB Rosen. Didn't have access to entire article but it really pissed me off. Maybe it is nothing but when you have a commitment from someone like Barnett why even take the chance of pissing him off?! Again it's probably been covered and dispelled but it just came to mind.

ND isnt actively recruiting any other QBs in 2015 class. Im sure Rosen, White, and a few others get mail or maybe a phone call every once in a blue moon but thats ND covering their bases. Barnett is as solid as they come, but there are tons of different scenarios that ND could need to take another QB,so its good to not burn bridges. But it would be foolish to think Blake doesnt know what is going on with recruiting and he understands the business side and is mature enough to handle everything thrown his way with the way recruiting is these days.

I feel really good about Everett and Malik and to some extent Kizer(Toledo connection) but, I am setting myself up to be miserable if we don't win a couple Natty's with Blake. I am Beano Cooking up my Ron Powlus as we speak. It just feels different this time.

I'm right there with you. I can see Everett going all Russell Wilson if his longball accuracy gets better, and I think our other guys have potential. But Barnett...

I remember when his name first popped up and I was hearing he might get an offer, my gut reaction as I was starting to Google him was "who the hell is this guy and why would he get an offer with how loaded the '15 class is at QB?"... but then his highlights loaded. And he was jaw-dropping on film.

His ceiling is absurd, he has all the tools of a Heisman caliber player with 1st round NFL upside. He's got all the intangibles you want with all of the physical traits you want... and all of his areas for improvement are things that should be coachable. Unless he turns out to be Tebow with uncorrectable mechanics, I don't see how he doesn't dominate CFB.

Exactly, he has the program defining talent that can get us on a modern day roll. How nice it could be? Pending everything you said, and don't get me wrong that is a big if, we got our guy. All depends on how he comes in and the attitude he brings with him. The physical abilities are there, it's just can be lead the others to greatness?

Only thing I saw was an update saying he'd be working out today with Rosen. He'll also be in South Bend for a week this summer to with out with BK and LaFleur. The staff likes where he is mechanically right now. They'll have more after camp.

Blake threw a lot better today than at the Elite11 camp in January. Definte progress being made on his end but also great to see he plays better with good competition/players around him.

To me, he plays with the confidence and self-assurance that you want to see out of your quarterback but he doesn't come off as an ass like JC did when he got here...I have a strong feeling that the class of '15 is going to end up being a class we are talking about 20yrs down the road as the catalyst for Notre Dame's rise in today's CFB...So difficult to not get excited about Blake and the class that we'll be able to bring in!

Interesting note, Blake has spoken with both Coach LaFluer and BK. They both told him that he shouldn't worry too much about his mechanics at this stage. They don want him overthinking thy part of his game right now. He'll be in South Bend for a week over the summer for camps. So he is going to get ample time to work with BK and LaFluer.

Blake has an opportunity to be part of it, and contribute to some next-level ND goals.

If this upcoming season is truly to be counted as successful, Blake will have much to learn from Everett, Malik & DeShone when he arrives in '15.

I'd expect Rosen to show out better than Blake in every event of this nature. If he didn't that'd be shocking. It was surprising to me to see Barnett outperform Town in the Elite 11... which to me indicates as much about Town being overrated as anything else.

Agreed, I was just posting the info. Also, I don't think Jake Brown is the best talent evaluator in the business.

I mean here's why I think Town is overrated...
1. He's a statue.
2. Does not have an elite "cannon" style arm.
3. Is the #1 overall player per 247, and #6 overall per composite.

I mean... what? If you're going to be the #1 QB without elite arm strength and no mobility then you better be the most accurate, smart, and perfect pocket passer imaginable. If you're going to be the #1 overall prospect in the entire country regardless of position... then should you even be allowed to have the shortcomings he does?

I just don't see it. I get why someone looking for a pure pocket passer would like him, but he strikes me as a Mitch Mustain type who has almost no chance of living up to his billing unless he is surrounded by all-time elite talent to make plays for him.

I'd take Rosen over Town every single time and by a huge margin. Just don't get it.
