@AnnaHScout: WR Ryan Newsome, already familiar w/ ND, explains why Cooks called him one of the most explosive players in 2015: ($)Scout.com: Newsome familiar with the Irish

Sounds grounded and well spoken. Distance will not matter. Program stability and how he fits with the players will matter. Knows a lot about ND, watched them on TV, likes the QBs ND has now and sees himself fitting in. Wants to play in the spread O. Will commit whenever ready.

@Jake_Brown: Aledo (Texas) ATH Ryan Newsome (@NewBoi17) calls #NotreDame offer a “blessing” as upward rise continues ($): Newsome: ND offer a ‘blessing'

Faith is very important to him. So much so that Cooks and Kelly went over his twitter extensively and couldn't find anything negative. They told him that he's one of the most unique players they've ever recruited. That speaks volumes to him. Faith is very important to him. Doesn't have a timetable for his commitment but said that he will commit whenever the lord tells him to.

Can the staff convince him that the Lord really hates UT and OU based on their graduation rates?

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but is faith important to him?

A poster on II asked if there were any WR prospects sticking out or that we are in good position for. TJ said that it's too early to tell for most prospects as new offers will be going out. When road evals are done we should know better April/May. However he had this to say about Newsome.

Newsome, however, will rank as one of our top guys now and later for sure. We identified him last year and have been following through since. Ideal SlotWR/APB/Returns/Utility guy for us and a great profile fit for ND. Many will compare his explosive playmaking skills to McKenzie, which is okay, but he's more polished and advanced at the same stage. The staff, through BK, has compared him more to Tavon Austin with a little of Percy Harvin's elusiveness and dynamic abilities. They love this kid and really want him, and he seems genuinely interested to date.

Hopefully he takes his academics seriously.

That might be the most cliche' thing I have ever read.
