Garnett will join his high school teammate, three-star offensive guard Joseph Paul, at Oklahoma. Garnett confirmed his verbal with a simple tweet and a photo with Stoops after an in-home visit.
The Sooners now hope to keep Garnett committed. He gave Stoops his verbal but still plans on taking an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend.

Barring a miracle, this isn't happening. It doesn't say that in the update, but just my opinion. When asked if ND was still in the race, he says "yeah, a little." He actually talks more about Oklahoma than us in the interview.

Loy's exact phrase was that Garnett is "the top priority at defensive tackle." Definitely didn't say or suggest that Cage isn't a take, and if we drew even with MSU we must have pushed pretty hard.

I think Loy's point was just that, even though Cage's visit went great and Garnett is committed elsewhere, we aren't going to just go through the motions on this visit. We are going to make a vigorous attempt to flip the kid.

Haha right?? One of the BGI mods was saying the same thing today. It certainly bodes well for us that he's visiting. I don't know what's going on with OU recruiting but maybe he just wanted to save a spot in the class? Idk.

You could be right ... but Perth is also right that if this were one of our commits we would be freaking out, asking each other why he feels he needs to take the visit if he's committed to us, etc. I mean what if, say, Pitt or PSU made a late push for Mokwuah and he took a visit there this weekend? Christ, we dropped McKenzie because he insisted on taking a late OV somewhere else, haha (joking, I get that it's not the same situation).
