This is why I don't follow recruiting too closely. There's nothing in sports I hate more than college football recruiting. It's always a punch in the gut when you lose a kid close to NSD who you had gotten excited to see in your team's uniform, and Notre Dame seems to lose more than their fair share of commits late in the process. Maybe it's just in my head, but I feel like Notre Dame always loses more of these kids late than they gain.

Oh well. Hope he decides to stay.

I fully expect him to decommit, and I hate it, but I don't blame him.

He's a Texas fan and grew up there.

Imagine growing up in Fort Wayne and loving ND your whole life. They never offer, so you take the best out of state offer and you're happy with it. ND offers a week before signing day, and your dream just came true. I'd feel bad about decommitting, but I'd explain it to the coaches and if they were upset, well I wouldn't care because it's my dream.

Speaking of dreams, wake me up when recruiting's over lol.

It's just so hard to hold on to guys from around the country IF the hometown school comes calling. It's the primary issue with recruiting California, Texas, and the deep south. Is what it is... if you want to roll the dice recruiting those locations, you have to be prepared for many late cycle decommits.

Don't know if that is quite the way I'd take it. Maybe an honest talk about how we cannot lose two LB so if he does take the visit we have to start looking to fill the spot. If he sticks with us then we don't have to make any moves on the LB front. But he has to understand the position this puts our staff in. I think the kid would understand if we starting making contingency plans if we are up front about it.

Wiltfong did some digging on the ND side, and said he wouldn't be surprised if Kolin didn't wind up visiting Texas.

I think we should know a lot more after BK's in home Monday.

Steve said he wouldnt be surprised if Hill didnt visit Texas. Steve has some concern if he visits Texas. Kolin and his dad have a great relationship with Cooks. Steve we will see what develops this week.
