Manning better than Brady?

They went 11-5 in 08 without Brady but that was a year removed from
16-0 so they were still 5 games worse. That was also with Cassell who is a serviceable QB. He went to the playoffs with the Chiefs and wasn't be starting this past week for the Vikes? Who was Peyton's replacement in 2011 when he was hurt? Like Painter or Orton aka someone way worse than Cassell. People who try and compare 08 Pats to 11 Colts aren't being fair to Cassell or the fact that the Pats went 16-0 the year before. They weren't going to free fall to 3 or 4 wins.

They weren't in the passing game (well, other than Vrabel). The discussion was over who had a better defense.

I know, I need to unsubscribe from this thread. I'm tired of arguing whether it's best to have a Lamborghini or a Ferrari or even a Bugati.

Ignoring the injuries and the amount of weapons huh? Awesome.

Denver's weapons are a lot more dangerous than the Patriots weapons. No question. But that doesn't dismiss the fact that Brady missed a ton of open guys today. He has also had arguably the greatest coach of all time with him his whole career. To me that is a MASSIVE advantage in terms of being able to control wins and losses, moreso than an extra good WR.

the answer to the title of the thread is....
YES IMO.

One more record in the books (and Brady's no less). Stranger things have happened, but I do not see TB capturing that record again.

I loved his interview. Consummate PRO and CLASS ACT. Can't wait till he retires in 3-4 more years and goes on to coach the Vols.

Took exactly 5 minutes to start with excuses.

Typical...

There's a difference between an excuse and a reason. Manning has Welker, Thomas, and Thomas (EDIT: Forgot Decker). Brady has something called Edelman.

Of course, Peyton outplayed him like crazy today. No doubt.

NOTE: I'm a Bears fan. I don't have a horse in this race.

Honestly cannot stand either guy, so I've always been a neutral observer.

IMO, this is a debate that makes me swing back and forth like a pendulum. So many good arguments can be made for either side.

*I will say a SB win would give Team Edward a compelling case over Team Jacob.

I can many are jumping to conclusions.

If it is about this game Manning was better end of discussion.

Career wise it is still very debatable and a lot of things are still in Brady's favor.

You got a lot of hate in you my friend. I thought I was hater but you got me beat man.

I will echo your most recent hate statement non Seahawk / Carroll / Richard Sherman related and that is fuck Florida State University.

I don't have much hate, but I hate Brady (scUM), Coach BB (cheater), and Coach PC (SCum). That said, I love everyone else.

Go Broncos. And go 49ers (until they play Peyton).

When Peyton loses: Choker!

When Brady loses: Look at all he doesn't have! So much adversity he has to fight through!

Manning was better today, and it wasn't even close. Brady was better earlier this year when they met. If they played a third time, I'd pick whoever was at home.

And they miss Gronk horribly.

Congrats to Peyton though, hope he wins the SB

That's because when you lose consistently in the playoffs as a favorite and always have a wealth of weapons around you, people are going to call it choking. Brady had had his choke jobs in the playoffs as well, including last year against Baltimore.

Peyton just seems to do it more often :)

Congrats to Peyton though, I'm pulling for them in two weeks.

Brady has pretty much always had a better defense and running game. Manning may have had better receivers but thats about it. Playing for Bellicheck is huge advantage over Dungy or anyone Mannings played for.

Edgerrin James would like to have words with you.

If Vandershank doesn't miss against the Steelers then we might be talking a little differently about wins.

Also, in one SB win, Brady was aided by a good kick return and only had to get the team into FG position, where AV nailed it.

Too much credit and blame is given to the QB's even with 21 other guys playing.

I hope Manning gets one more.

At one point NE had Amendola, Edelman, and Collie on the field at the same time. I don't have a dog in the fight, but that's not exactly a recipe for success.

I remember a time when amendola was the next welker and collie was gonna be something during the colts tenure.

Now they're worthless.

I bet if decker was a patriot he'd also be worthless.

In Collie's defense, he showed a lot of promise before getting 1,347 concussions.

Yeah well when has Manning ever had a season like the one the Pats just went through? Brady lost his top 4 targets from last season plus their starting RB from last season was 3rd on the depth chart this season. I'm pretty sure the Pats had a shitload of turnover the defense this season as well. Brady still guided the Pats to the AFCCG.

Manning for most of his career has had better weapons than Brady. Brady had a couple good years with Moss but Manning had Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne in their primes. Edgerrin James is better than any RB Brady has ever worked with. Today's match was ridiculously one sided as far weapons go and overall team completeness. Manning has the better O-line, RB's, WR's, TE's, and defense.
