Yep. UF was like ND in 2007 ... it was understandable why they were bad but there was simply no excuse for them to be THAT bad. I really can't understand why a recruit would want to jump on what appears to be a sinking ship.

Yea, they lost to Georgia Southern at home. They have guys in their 3 deep that are better than Georgia Southern's starters. I mean C'mon, that screams terrible coaching and players not responding to what that idiot is saying.

The class that Florida is pulling makes no sense. Their head coach is on the hot seat, they are coming off their worst season in years, and yet they pull Gerald Willis (LSU heavy lean), Holley, Jalen Tabor (Bama/Zona battle), Brandon Powell (Miami commit) and Eric Lauderdale (Tennessee commit). Not to mention they have a very strong shot with Mckenzie and Adoree Jackson.

Take from it what you will, but to me, it makes no sense.

I heard the tail end of a segment on DP this morning where he quoted a coach who just out and said that they don't even try to get players that are being recurited by multiple SEC schools because they just can't afford it...

So if I am understanding this correctly, Muschamp is going all in on the OC from Duke being able to install a spread offense with the following situation currently at hand:

What Roper has to work with is uncertain, unproven and underperforming talent. Junior quarterback Jeff Driskel comes off a fractured right fibula he suffered against Tennessee on Sept. 21.
Freshman Will Grier, who worked with Roper at Duke quarterback camps, is an unknown commodity.
Sophomore running back Matt Jones is missing spring practice while recovering from a torn left meniscus. The search for a major contributor at receiver is ongoing.

The offensive line is missing parts, while the tight ends are missing altogether.
There’s much to figure out in 15 spring practices, a summer and fall training camp, but by all indications, the man who learned from one of the best is ready.

I know a former head coach of a major college football program who said these exact words to one of my family members.

If this kid is an "all about me" kid as mentioned, then I can see him going to UF. They tell him what he wants to hear and they worry about everything else after he gets on campus.

It's not like it hasn't come up before regarding Muschamp paying players at Auburn  Of course, that one got swept under the rug, didn't it?

Afford it in what sense? Not wasting time and resources recruiting a kid from Florida when your school is in Washington State. Bama can't affors to recruit SoCal too much and Notre Dame can't afford to spend a lot of time in Bama recruiting a kid who grew up dreaming of playing in the SEC.

It was pretty clear he meant dollars, it was mentioned at the end of a segment on paying athletes... Did anyone hear the whole segment?? I got the very tail end where they were discussing this coach but I assume they had already stated his name and never re-stated it.

Yeah, kid kept his cards close to his vest, but he seemed pretty cool and Jay Hayes certainly seemed to like him. Hope he has a good recovery.
