Well this seems to directly contradict TPs tweet about him being a great kid. Someone is misinformed. Probably Loy lol

I have never seen one interview or article where I didn't think this kid was a superb add not only to the football team but to the university. However, he is at best 18 and 18 year old kids make decisions for reasons that are hard to understand. Add to that the fact that Mora is willing to say and do anything and this is what happens. If all things are equal he's at ND but there not.

Cal is not the same academic institution when it comes to the football program, and i dont believe he has a Stanford offer... plus UKKLUH i giving his sister a track scholarship or something

True...but couldn't the same thing be said for UCLA's football program and academics?

Can we be too upset with the package deal in honesty, BK did it with GAIII and Josh? I say this sucks but that's recruiting.

haha grow up

you sound like an angry kid

There are coaches who invest there time and effort into these kids. Those men provide for their families by doing so. Those men spend time away from their kids and wives so they can recruit said prospect. Yes, its there chosen profession but like in almost all professions that we choose we will encounter this. It doesn't make it right. The kid has the right to go to any school he wants. I said I thought he was a helluva kid I just care what happens to him if this is how he or his family feels is the best way to approach this situation.

CAL is like cellar dweller bad if im not mistaken..

Now...are you saying that they don't allow their players to take on difficult majors , or rather that the players, given the choice, choose not to pursue difficult degrees? honestly, if it is a huge concern for Matt that he get the most out of his academics, why couldn't he choose a major that isn't "gender studies" or something of that level?

Honestly I can't wait till Mora leaves UCLA for the NFL and burns everything he left behind.

Finally, there is a serious case to be made for not recruiting Cali. About 80% of the prospects we gain commitments from in that state either flake out on campus, decommit, or bust.

The reward is worth the risk, IMO. Two of our most talented starters next year are from California and our schedule gives us a presence in the state every year. To compete on a national level, I think it's a must to pluck as much talent out of the state as possible.

If he didn't leave this yr with the massive amount of open NFL jobs, I don't see him leaving for quite a while.

I don't think he will leave for a while either but you never know with coaches. UCLA is making a commitment to football and having huge facilities upgrades. Whether you like or not Mora is a great football coach and building a hell of a program.

also the Washington job...

Haden thought he'd killed 2 birds with his sark hire 1) get sark who he obvioulsy likes and 2) sark departure at UW opens spot for Mora to go back to UW--and out at ucla.
he's gotta be grinding his gears with this mora led ucla resurgence at the beginning of his tenure as AD.

ps. by the way, did Vanderdoes ever list his "4 reasons" yet? did the sac bee ever come thur on their "scoop"?
