From the "Who is likely next" thread:

ISD: New 2014 CB On Radar

Terrence Alexander - CB out of LA

HC JT Curtis:

“They’ve talked with him by phone,” head coach JT Curtis said of the Irish. “Of course it’s a dead period now. They’d visited with him and the dad.”

“I believe they’re in the process of trying to set up a visit now,” Curtis said. “I have not met with the dad yet, I met with Terrence and he gave me that information. He hasn’t given me the date or if they’ve set a definite time with Notre Dame or not.”

“We don’t do any unofficial or official visits during the season other than the local schools. So our recruiting process is really just kind of getting rolling.”

“He’s a guy that’s competed two state championship track teams,” said Curtis. “He runs extremely well. He’s probably 5-11 and 175, 180 pounds. He’s a true cover-type corner, but is a pretty aggressive player. He’s a good tackler and has good ball skills."

“He’s a good student too. Stanford and Northwestern are two of the schools that he’s shown interest in.”

Apparently the coach of John Curtis Christian High School doesn't really allow visits, other than to local schools, until after the season has ended.

With the news/rumors of Brown transferring out, I'd really like to see us make a push here. I know we brought in a number of CBs last year, but I hate lacking depth in the secondary and already expected Watkins to be called into action pretty regularly.

Jan 17th. Stanford and Ole Miss are the other players. Wiltfong says it might be hard with the tight numbers but he thinks we could be a real threat.

Notre Dame, Stanford and..... Ole Miss???

That's an odd group.

Seems strange that Wiltfong spoke to the numbers. We seem to be having some attrition this season and I expect there to be more. Also, the staff talked about "oversigning" with the assumption of attrition earlier in the year. If the staff is going hard after a kid, then it seems their actions should speak for themselves.

I think it is still rather unknown if we will have attrition. Sure there is some rumblings about the Atkinsons but what if cooler heads prevail? I have heard that Jalen Brown is done at ND while others say he was just suspended for the bowl game and will be back in the Spring. It seems like a real possibility that Utopo could come back, still have the Tuitt situation, etc etc....

Re: Alexander, he did really like Northwestern too... I think Ole Miss is the SEC school that showed the most interest but he has always been interested in the academics.

wow, this would be a very nice addition. I think we take him if we can get him.

I agree. Wiltfong said that he thinks it's likely to work out such that we will have a spot for him. As GITF said, that remains to be seen. But if the staff is going after him, that probably shows that the staff and Wiltfong know something we don't.

He has a pretty impressive offer list to only be a 3 star prospect. If the staff will make room for him, then he must be more along a 4 star in the minds of the staff.

Absolutely love his confidence and swagger. Need more of that swagger on this D.

I think it ultimately comes down to a Stanford vs ND battle and I'm not sure who wins. I think this kid is a must get if we want to run more man coverage moving forward with BVG.

The obvious knock on him is size... might be as small as 5'9"... and that might keep him from an offer.

TJ on II made it seem like the staff was high on him. I think if and when he gets on campus, he will get the offer. I think you are right on the BVG comment - think we will be playing a lot more man in his aggressive schemes, and need more pure cover corners rather than the big bodies we have been getting for Diaco's old style.

This kid is a very good, underrated cover corner. Really hope we end up with him.

If he is tall enough, IMO. I think that's why they haven't offered yet before the OV... they want to see his stature in person.
