Hey, at least viewers won't be subjected to the constant "his father/grandfather/brother/cousin/uncle/other grandfathered also played at MSU." Or is that just an ND on NBC thing?

Just FYI... Max's brother Riley is a FB on the team...will still get mentioned

This is so true, but I think I'd take them both: one for comedy, one for heartbreaking beauty and surprise.

Have you SEEN Rose McGowan??

Since her days from Jawbreaker to Charmed until now, she looks absolutely AWFUL, like she has had some really bad plastic surgery.

I would pay them both to NOT speak.

Sam Ponder otoh, yes please!

EDIT: Just read that she was in a terrible car accident, but she seems to have become addicted to the plastic surgery.

I did not know this. That's very sad. I'll just remember her from her salad days. But, yes, the announcing gig is off the table.

I don't think either Tressel or Meyer would ever bench his best defensive player for a bowl game. Not in a zillion years, unless forced to by the school administration.

Delaney petitioned to have the OSU rule breakers instated for the BCS game when the Tressel thing broke. They should have been suspended immediately.

No doubt Meyer is known for letting the inmates run the asylum... but we'd be remiss not to note that he suspended Carlos Dunlap for the SEC championship game against Alabama after he was arrested in 2009. This was a game which they went on to lose and miss out on a likely 3rd straight national championship... without Dunlap, they also gave up 60% more points to Alabama than they did to any other team in the regular season. The Gators went on to finish 13-1.

This year he also benched Marcus Hall for the Big Ten title game after flipping the double bird in the Big House. So we should give some credit where it is due... he has shown that he will suspended starters for big games if they screw up.

Tressel... man, Tressel is the absolute king of the BS "moral" father figure thing... he cheated and turned a blind eye to all kinds of indiscretion... no doubt he would never, ever suspend his star player unless absolutely forced. He's a joke of a human being.

Something was odd about the Marcus Hall thing. They said they weren't going to suspend him, but they didn't play him. It was like Meyer got pressured by someone not to play him, or cut a deal that he wouldn't make a big deal out of it. but Hall wouldn't play him: the kid wasn't embarrassed but he wouldn't play, either. I'd add that, although Hall is a starter, he isn't to the OSU offense what Bullough is to the Spartans' defense, so I still wonder whether Myer would have benched Hyde or Miller. But I get your point.

8-4 Minnesota looks pretty bad against 6-6 Syracuse, losing 14-3 at the end of the 3rd (though they are mustering a drive finally). The Big Ten is really weak. Of the Big 10, SEC, PAC 10, Big 12 and ACC, the Big 10 is clearly last imo.

You spoke too soon. They are down 14-10 after a pretty good looking drive.

Yeah, I saw that; I guess I lit a fire under them lol. Well, Syracuse is a pretty bad team itself. They really have beaten no one decent....their "big" wins were against NC State, Tulane, and BC. And they're giving Minnesota all they can handle.

Two bad teams playing their hearts out -- that what I love about so many bowl games, lol

That's the first BIG team to go down right? 0-1?

Yes, 0-1. Unless you count next year's Big Ten team, Maryland, in which case, the B1G is 0-2, lol. Maryland will fit right in.

I am pretty bearish on the Big 10. I think Ohio State will probably win, and someone probably will win another somewhere, but more than three bowl wins would surprise me.

I'd like BYU to stick it to Washington. I hope all ND's opponents will, except Michigan. We got So Cal and Pitt so far. (Of course, the Rose Bowl is a wash.)

This Washington team has a ton of talent. Can't help but think they should be better than 8-4.
