Redskins to pursue Briles?

Seeing a lot of rumors about this over the last couple of days. As a Redskins fan, I hate it. Thoughts?

Realize if the Skins had their pick still for this year they could've grabbed Clowney or Bridgewater.

Snyder has already been called out by singling RG3 out and treating him above all of the other players on the team, despite how that effects how the head coach does his job. This would just be proof positive that Snyder just runs things how he wants to, and right now, he just loves RG3.

When Shanahan was asked about that today, he simply said that "it wasn't the time or place to talk about something from a year ago".

Which pretty much means that its true.

MNF mentioned that Lovie Smith could be an option. That would be great for Skins fans.

He's a great coach. I may never get over losing him as our coach. Terrible decision by the Bears ownership.

I'm guessing that he'll have his pick of jobs this offseason. The Skins have a nice group of defensive players, so you never know. I'm not sure working for Snyder would be a positive for him though.

CBSSports has an article up saying that Shanahan could be fired as early as tomorrow. Briles is number one on their board. I HATE Snider!

The talent is there. Orakpo and Kerrigan are studs on the end. London Fletcher is one of the most overlooked MLBs in the league. Riley has really come on as well. Hall and that rookie Amerson are sufficient in the secondary. Yet our defense is historically bad. Why? Possible because the ass hat blitzes on the same level as Tenuta. Embarassing.

You don't trade 3 first round picks for RGIII. Period. At the time I didn't think it was a bad move, but anyone who knew anything about building a team told me. I was an idiot. They were right. With Cousins + those 3 picks we are almost surely in a better position moving forward... and could draft either Clowney or Bridgewater this year.

Didn't Briles just sign a huge extension? I realize that hardly matters, but has he ever expressed an interest in the NFL? He has a pretty nice gig at Baylor.

The Redskins have a franchise quarterback, a back to back thousand yard runningback, young talent at WR in Garcon and Hankerson, two solid TEs, and a manageable offensive line. The defense has a bunch of talent as well. I don't think Oakland has a lot of what the Redskins have on the field. The sidelines and owners box are killing the skins right now.

Yeah the owners box has hurt the Raiders for a long time too. I agree the Redskins have talent. As far as a "franchise QB" .....well RGIII has the title, but I don't think he has the talent for long-term success in the NFL.. Shanahan needs to go.

I'm hearing Lovie to Houston.

Right now the Redskins are better off with Cousins at QB. It's been proven for decades that you can't run an offense where you QB runs all the time. They get injured all the time. Wilson in Seattle is prudent on when he runs, which is unusual for a young QB.

Snyder and Jones are definitely the two worst owners in the NFL.
