the Cowherd tweet is interesting because it could be anything.

It's clearly in reference to Cack's stuff... but yeah... we shall see... I always had Saban to UT at around 50/50 ish... I'm still there... anything could happen.

I'm intrigued but showing skepticism for now. That will fly out the window if I hear that Mack Brown has been fired.

I don't think they would do that to Mack though. It's not like he was a bad guy, but his run is done though. I could see them locking down Saban then announcing brown will retire.

Apparently there is some stuff over on the Rivals Main Board discussing this but I don't have access

I have to think if there is any truth to this it would break really damn quickly... hard to keep a secret like that when the whole sports world would be trying to break the story...

No reporter would run with it though unless the proof was rock solid.. i.e. confirmation from someone in either program... right now all the sources would be attenuated at best. Someone heard from someone that heard from someone in the program. It is spreading on twitter like wildfire and I've seen it on a few boards.

Shefter ran with "Bob Stoops to ND is a done deal". Went on ESPN Live even. Sometimes even good info doesn't end up coming to fruition.

Interesting stuff, for sure.

Ah... I'm pretty sure they'd have to move on Brown before moving on his replacement...

If Texas truly is in on Saban, the plan has been in place for a while and Mack knows about it. Texas wouldn't treat him like that after all he's done there.

Do you guys want Saban at Alabama, recruiting wise?

We seem to have finally made inroads with the state of Texas as of late, and I feel like if Saban takes that job, all top level talent in Texas, stays in Texas.

I mean, we battle Alabama just as much I guess, so it opens that door.

If I were Saban, I'd get the fuck out of Alabama just because living in that state probably sucks.

Crazy stuff.

Yeah, you're right ACamp that means less than nothing except that eventually someone will have to say something. Once a rumor gets big enough even amongst simpletons like us then someone that does know something usually makes a statement. Just have to wait

Won't be able to oversign at Texas so he can't have everybody, it's a big state haha.

ESPN would be pissed if Saban left since they've signed a contract with SEC. If nothing else, I want this to happen for that reason, lol.

It'd probably be best for college football, as the SEC's best program would take a major hit.

Let's let IrishPat back to IE, have Saban go to Texas, get Pat when he's all hopped up on red bull, have Pat read a story about someone abusing a child, tell him Saban did it.

Saban dead.

ESPN also has the Longhorn Network so they wouldn't mind at all.

Yes. He could still take plenty of Texas kids am lots of high ranked players from anywhere. Austn is a sick place. We would still be able to get fine players from Texas.

Saban dead.

I'll avoid political arguments with BobD and GoIrish41 for a month if we bring Pat back. What if we bring him back on a probationary basis and limit his daily posts?

Hey, you don't have to convince me. Check my signature.

I say bring him back and make him a mod. YOLO.

I'll wait until something actually happens before freaking out...

Ya mean you didn't see the proof positive in the Iron Bowl?

Saban's team making more mistakes in one game than they made in the past couple of seasons?

Saban attempting a record setting kick with the backup kicker as time expires instead of winning in OT?

Saban putting no LB, Safety, or RB on the field with the FG unit AFTER Malzahn calls time out AND substitutes a Kick Returner for a Safety AND positions him in the EZ for a return.

All of which resulted in Saban being freed of an obligation to coach in the NC Game allowing him to step into the UTX position seamlessly with two months to bring in a recruiting class.

Elam and Luatua come on down!

No idea if this is true, but I'd love it. Aggies might shut up (sorry, but I'm surrounded by them), and Alabama's reign of terror ends.
