Actually a pretty great piece of writing by the big man

Coach Note // Play Like a Champion Today // University of Notre Dame

From the article:

This week, Louis Nix, a Notre Dame senior and student in the Social Foundations of Coaching course, as well as a linebacker on the football team, wrote the weekly Coach Note.

.......Linebacker?

I would have absolutely no issue with Louis sitting out the rest of the season to avoid aggravating his injuries. Kid has earned the right.

Is this just lip service, or do we think there's a chance?

I highly doubt he returns, but I would welcome him with open arms if by some miracle he returns. Just imagine if both Nix and Tuitt retur... ah, what is the point, never going to happen. :(

I would be shocked if lou came back.

But I would argue, his 5th year would be more important to the well being of the team than the 4th years than teo, floyd, and eifert came back for.

Louis is a huuuge part of this defense. (no pun intended)

If I were Kelly I'd tell Nix he would play him on O every goal line snap next year lol. Hype up the Heisman campaign as much as possible.

But if I were Nix, seriously I would just got to the NFL.

Outside of pride, there is no reason not to. ND degree in hand + 1st round pick? He (SHOULD BE) gone.

Definitely, for his sake i hope he goes. Hes gonna have his degree and has battled for ND, id hate for him to come back and have some type of serious injury.

Hope he goes to the NFL. He's a sure-fire first round pick, and will get a nice contract and hefty signing bonus (I'd say maybe a $6M-$7M bonus, assuming he goes around #8-12) because of it. I'm sure his Mom and large family could use it. He's paid his dues here. Can't wait to see him succeed at the next level.

the selfish irish fan (me included) would love for him to stay with tuitt and give it another run with a good team. with their experience and talent on the line it would allow the young LB's to grow into their spots. however, i agree that they should enter the draft if graded out in the first round.

I hope the guy has a ton of success in the NFL but as a selfish ND fan I don't see how we run a 3-4 without him next year. Our defense will take an even bigger step back without Big Lou next year.

We ran a decent 3-4 with Sean Cywnar and with Kona. He makes the team exponentially better but not to a point where we will be miserable without him.

As an ND fan, I'd love to see him back, but as a fan, I hope he goes, signs a contract as big as his personality and has a long and successful pro career.
Just hope not for a NFC East team besides the Giants.

Really going to miss this kid..Kid committed to ND without a head coach and not knowing where the program was going. Enjoy Senior Day next week.
