If one was to take a poll of the current Irish players and coaches and ask them if they would rather play in a BCS bowl against a high quality opponent and possibly lose or play against a lesser opponent and win I am sure they would choose the BCS bowl game opponent every time.
Football is born out of the struggle to compete against the best opponent possible. And that will to compete alll too often leads to the will to win. But win or lose... you face the challenge like a true warrior. Instead of "Please God" it should say "Thank God" the Irish players have that will to compete at the highest level. Some fans need to grasp on to that and stand behind their team.
I am done with this thread.
Late year nomination for thread of the year?
There is still 1/3 of the season left, which means that, theoretically, anyone in the Top 25 could end up in a BCS bowl. With that in mind, we could very well beat the following teams, in my opinion:
South Carolina (#13)
Oklahoma State (15)
UCLA (16)
Fresno State (17)
Michigan State (18)
UCF (19)
Louisville (20)
Wisconsin (21)
Northern Illinois (22)
Arizona State (23)
Texas Tech (25)
He will have toHow Irish Jacky feels about us stealing his thread
