If he's on the team next year I will do the naked lap.

You've been a great poster for a while... Respected by far more than just me....

Because of that I'm asking for clarity here... Do you KNOW something concrete,... Or is this just your strong opinion??

How does anybody know if Bryant is a great player?

Very strong and compact- built for the position, very fast, very quick and explosive, likes contact, good hands, played the best competition in Florida and got consistently excellent reviews, got excellent reviews from the college players in the Spring and Summer, has a lot of swagger.

None of his evaluations are based on pure talent, claiming that he is raw or a work-in-progress. They all agree he plays the game very well. The whole argument has always been is he a Top 5 RB, or more of a high 4-star talent.

This year, its simply been that he is having a hard time picking up the offense. That happens. Call him a slow learner, or blame it on Kelly, but that doesn't call his talent into question. EG and Tuitt went through the same thing recently.

Long story short, these kind of kids tend to have good careers. We did pretty good with Jonas, Cierre, and Riddick!

This would be best done on gameday. People on here have mentioned before about an IE meet and great / BBQ before a game. We should plan that for next year. And your lap should be done then.

To add to that, during his recruitment, ironically enough, Bryant also was praised for his willingness and effectiveness in pass protection.

If that's true, i blame Kelly and Bryant, the both.

Kelly for not having alternatives. You can move Amir to the Slot, even sacrifice Mcdaniel (a tough guy who deserves his playing time, sure) but you've to make decisions and Bryant is a better player, period. But no, he clearly can not handle this situation. He needs to understand that a five star, especially if he is from Florida, Cali or far away, wants to play right away and you have to "consent" this players. Maybe it's unfair, but this is the way how it works when you have this "diva" type of players. We can not blame Kelly for the Vanderdoes situation, but i think this is his fault in some way. The same with Davonte Neal (who really leaves because of his playing time). You can not play with Robbie Toma over him or with Cam Mcdaniel over Greg Bryant.

He says he has some problems with pass protection/assignments. Really? A guy who his father is a football coach. A guy who come here with a good reputation a blocker. A smart guy who had months to learn the playbook. Alex Collins only played football for two years prior to his college career, come to Arkansas as a poor blocker and now is the best RB as a True Freshman and plays a lot. Man, i'm sure that Bryant is smarter while sleeps than Dyer, Crowell or other TF's who played a lot in his first year. Sounds an excuse to me, if that's what true, why would he leave? He should stay and fix this problem. He clearly thinks he can play.

And Bryant maybe has some nice muscles but maybe his head is soft. All this drama with only a month of competition, frustrating.

I think all parts have some fault. If he leaves, good luck.

I just suffered through the last 300 or so posts on this topic of he should get more reps because he is a 5 star, or its BK's fault that he isn't getting enough reps etc.
Whatever happened to not being entitled to things? How about earning something once in awhile. Not saying this is the case with Greg, but too many people feed these kids that they are the best, that they are entitled to the job from day 1. Well they are in for a world of hurt the rest of their lives if they are always thinking things are going to be given to them. Buckle down, work hard, and beat the guy thats in front of you. Then there will be no questions who gets the PT.

I've been told by a few people that he is in the process of transferring and has been for a few weeks now. Yesterday I got two texts from guys on the team that he was in fact transferring. The news this morning about his dad saying that its all rumors is obviously heart warming. But I still think he'll be gone by spring.

Hopefully I'm wrong. Good news is that the longer he's on campus (i.e. til the spring) the better chance he sticks for good. But I'm certainly surprised by this mornings news..

Louis Nix or Chris Stewart would be great guys for him to talk to. Both experienced extreme homesickness and almost gave up on ND completely. Both now call it the best decision they ever made to graduate from ND.

Did Greg have a UCLA offer? I wonder if Mora Jr. is starting to recruit him.

I thought Stewart never ended up graduating. Or maybe that was finishing his graduates.

He graduated in 3 and a half years from ND, and was the only FBS player in the country to be going to law school while playing as a 5th year in 2010. Think he may have not graduated from law school, as I know he was on the Jets practice squad for a bit.

I believe he is still in law school after he gave up on the NFL dream. He summered at Jones Day here in Chicago this past summer and was applying for legal jobs for the upcoming all-important 2L summer. (My girlfriend is a legal recruiter and got his application - I told her to get him an interview immediately)

ill take his dads words somewhat positively, but it is the middle of the season, would he/ could he transfer out on the drop of a hat at this very moment, and that be that?

is this a gentlemen's agreement between the Bryant camp and ND, kelly not wanting to deal with question/ criticism mid season with our biggest rival on deck, in return they rule him out for "likely" the remainder of the season in order to preserve a year of eligibility. Which then GB agrees to ride out the season and transfer out at seasons end.

ill still hold my breath on this one.
