I hope we play them again.

They'll have a vastly superior team next year.

Hate to tell you, but Tommy Rees is not going to get better. Despite our secondary being awful, Brady Quinn would have beat Michigan tonight. There were guys open all over the field all night. Rees is who he is, and we just have to accept it.

It's going to be an average year.

I hope a marble statue falls on Devin Garnder's crotch and he can never have kids.

Being a sore loser is cool.

I'm not a Tommy lover, but damn, kid is on pace for 4000 yards. I don't think we'd have been that close if it weren't for him being able to read the D (at least a little). Brady Quinn would NOT have beat scUM tonight, BECAUSE BRADY QUINN DOESN'T PLAY DEFENSE. Give up 41 points, you usually lose.

He's a 4th year Division 1 player. Reading the D and checking into the right play is the minimum for a Div 1 QB. The problem is that (a) he is inconsistent and (b) makes bad decisions (see the ball that should have been intercepted that he threw to Daniels when TJ Jones was wide open crossing the field) (C) prone to turnovers, some ridiculously stupid like the ball he threw right into the Michigan players hands on the sideline. He had two int's tonight, but should have had three.

He is the same guy, and I'm sad to say that, because I was hoping he had turned a corner.

That said, he's the best we have. So, Go Irish!

He is better than last year, and yes, they best we have. My point is that we might not have scored 42 with Golson. The porous D is the issue.

Well, I slept on it. And I still don't understand the blaming of Rees. He has looked good this year. Yes, good. The D just gave up 41 and Gardner looked good. Sometimes other teams are good, its not always because we suck. We can't defend mobile QBs very well, especially on play action. Rees can't change that and it isn't his fault

Why would you want to play them again this year?? So the D can give up FIFTY to Michigan???

There's a very small chance we could see them in the Rose Bowl, right?

Michigan gets in by winning the B1G and getting left out of the NCG OR finishing 2nd in the B1G with OSU going to the NCG.

ND gets in by securing BCS automatic entry and Oregon or Stanford going to the NCG with no respectable Pac12 team remaining to fill their slot.

Since the SEC is basically guaranteed a spot in the game, the more likely scenario is Michigan winning the B1G and a Pac12 school goes to the NCG.

I imagine a Michigan vs. Notre Dame rematch would be more attractive to the Rose Bowl than a Michigan vs. 9-4/8-5 PAC12 runner up. It's a pipe dream but I'd love for it to happen.

I never want to play them again.... Ever ever ever ever... That's just me.... For the 90th time, this game is all risk and zero reward... And it always seems to be a hernia for the fanbase...

I'm beginning to agree. I really dislike Michigan, and I think the rivalry is good for college football, but what do we really get out of it? Maybe a decent jump in a poll if we win? Maybe some momentum (I don't think the defensive battle did much for us last year, Stanford was a bigger boost imo). We certainly didn't get any credibility last year. No, this game means less to us, but for Michigan it means they're already penciled in for the B1G championship in a rematch with OSU. I'm sure the Gardner for Heisman campaign just began last night too.
