Bad? No. Average? Absolutely. This isn't a ten win team… not with the holes on defense. Our MLB play is so bad it's like we are playing with one or two less guys at times.

Got to defend those quick patterns way better.

I also get frustrated the year after year we always have issue with play action QB bootlegs. The man in the flat is usually open.

As usual you are an idiot. First off it is Rees. 2nd we lost because our D couldn't cover a ****ing paper bag.

How can we beat a good team like Stanford not stopping the run or the mobile QB?

Looks like a 9-3 at best season this year. And that isn't BCS.

We can also look at Everett G. as the reason we are stuck with Rees at QB.

Bad D, Bad QB You don't throw a INT in the end zone. If you do you lose. And 2 bad INTS are horrible. 14 points are on Rees--as as bad as the D was--would we have won if we had 7 points off the score board and 7 added on our side? Tommy isn't A BCS level QB (BCS Bowl that is)

But, then again our defense isn't worthy of a BCS after Temple and Michigan.

Oh well, we have no choice we have this defense and we are stuck with Rees.

At least Purdue is beatable.

No closing speed from the inside linebackers. Bet a million v bucks that fox nor calabrese run faster than a 4.95 forty. Temple gashed us the same way last week with a mobile qb.

Penalties and turnovers at key times cost us the game.

Can't wait for Tommy to get his degree and move on. Defense was bad. Refs ****ed us. But we could have won and simply did not.

The only time Rees throws a rope is when he's 5 yards away from the receiver...And great call for him to keep rolling to his left. And let's run a corner route on 4th and short. So much win here.

Watch something other than a nd game. He is a serviceable backup.

Second game of the season and everyone is throwing the towel? Come on people! We didn't play very well tonight, but nothing was going our way. Alabama lost against A&M last year, and they still did great things. Let'S see how things unfold...

How can any of you bash Rees? He had 1 bad INT but we scored 30 points and lost. This one is on the D!!!

Except we will face the kid at Stanford who is a better passer. We will face better wrs like USC. Better running game like BYU. It feels like a 2011 defense again that won't be able to stop anything.

I can only imagine what next years defense will look like after losing Tuitt am Nix. Oh yeah shembo too. Ugly.

The inability to get off on third down, not defending the PA well, and not running more all come to mind as bigger issues with this game than Rees

I agree that he probably had more than one bad throw tonight....but, I really don't think he played bad. The first pick was bad. The second one was out of desperation. He probably didn't need to be desperate, but it isn't like he was terrible. I thought he made some decent throws. He had to be perfect tonight for us to win, and he wasn't. I'm not going to kill a guy for not being perfect.

As usual, Michigan won a game because six or seven plays that could have gone either way went their way. I've never seen anything like it.

Rees did not play well. But he didn't play like total crap either against a solid D. His first INT was an atrocious game changer.... but we put the entire game on his shoulders by falling behind early, and that's simply NOT where he is going to thrive.

This game was lost when Diaco came out with a horrible gameplan in the first half and we were put in a massive hole. All of my fears were realized... he asked LBs/DBs to simply do things they cannot do and they got worked. He absolutely 100% needs to be more aggressive and live with a couple big plays, because playing passive against a mobile QB is going to lead to them anyways when the QB gets 1v1 with out unathletic linebackers.

Ive not been a big Rees fan though I did hope he would have a big year this season bc he deserves it for being a team first guy. However this game is not on Tommy at all its all on an extremely kverrated defense that gave up over 40 points and a very overrated defensive coordinator. Fact is ND defense has been below avg outside of last year when Manti took over. Diaco has shown no creativity and looks much more like the guy that was dominated by Navy than the guy who looked good because of Manti and some good breaks last year. This defensive performance was just humiliating.

Where did I ever say he was a Heisman contender or even great? All I'm saying is everyone is quick to bash Rees when he played about as well as he could. Probably 6 or so dropped balls if not more. The INT at the end was a freak one. Should he have thrown it? probably not, I actually am under the impression he rifled it to hit Daniels in the back of the endzone (though he could have put some air under it and let Daniels climb the ladder). It's plain and simple that we dominated the line of scrimmage on offense. If our D could have stopped Michigan we could have ran the ball down their throats, therefore taking the ball out of Tommy's hands, controlling the clock, and forcing Michigan to creep up and hit playaction.
