...If TR had tossed it to MF and scored a TD you probably would have said BK called a great play. If TJ had caught the ball and scored (IF), same thing.

I'm not even sure how this topic came about -- I was just making this point to defend TJ from someone who was dogging on him. But since you mention it, I said to several other people that it was a dumb formation before the ball was even snapped.

Passing on first down, out of shotgun, on the goalline, is always something I've found to be one of the more foolish tendencies of Kelly.

IMO he'll be probably the most important offensive player this year. Each season the team has needed a consistent 3rd down playmaker to keep drives alive (Floyd, Eifert), and he's going to have to be the one to fill that role.

Agree. I think him and DD could help Tommy have a big year (for him)

More than Floyd, and maybe even a little more than Eifert, Jones has interpersonal skills to make him a great senior leader with the young receivers. In other words, with the freshmen coming in who may contribute and the rather inexperienced underclassmen, Prosise, Carslile, Brown, and even Daniels, I can't think of a competent receiver over the last five years that could do a better job setting an example, and leading.

That's money. Is that legal, serious question.

I lived in a small town that allowed us to paint the hydrant on our property as long as we got prior approval of the design.

Where I am now - no way.

Here they are painted different color schemes depending the size of line ran to the hydrant, amount of pressure, which ones are hooked on the same main ect. So in Perry Mo, NO that would not be legal.
* I only know this because I once had to do community service for a MIP and that was one way I got to serve my community.

I want nothing more than TJ to have tremendous success this season and beyond. He's been a prime example of a "ND Man."

I think he will be drafted no later than the 4th round. He is as reliable as they come. His height is the only thing keeping him from being a top round pick.

That and production, not that it's necessarily his fault.

I'd probably say 4-5 round most likely, but whatever team drafts him will be really happy they did. Maybe not a game breaker but would be a killer #3 WR. I hope the Jets take him (along with a new quarterback).

Per BKs press conference today, TJ will be the punt return man. Apparently he really wanted the job, and has brought a renewed energy to the punt return game, which has in turn elevated the game of the blockers.

BK didn't commit to anything but did say we are in a position to be more aggressive from time to time at punt returns than last year. He also noted that having continuity in staff (which for instance let him hand over playcalling responsibilities) has allowed him to free up more time for him to personally work with special teams.

Personally, i feel like there is pretty good room for special teams to advance this year. There were games last year (BYU comes to mind) where we really could have used a big play or momemtum swing to get us rolling. Hoping very much that combined with a dominant D and an efficient O, big plays on ST will nail the collective coffin of our opponents shut.

Another step toward a well rounded ND team/dynasty.

He is one of the captains this year.

Personally, I am very excited to see him play this season. I expect a big year.

Awesome news for TJ! He's definitely primed for a name-making season IMO. He's going to be our go-to guy for sure. If he cab add a spark on punt returns too? So be it!

just re-watched the highlights of temple.

i may get some "what chu talkin bout willis" from this comment, but, i think TJ looks like michael floyd (if MF was put in the dryer a little too long). try and follow:

his stride looks longer like mikes was. ability to take a bubble for a first down or big gain because of such a burst and step the DB simply has to play it safe and give a cushion. add to this a pretty good stiff arm and ability to run through arm tackles. you literally have a MF mini-me.
