Picked up the game yesterday and played it for the first time today. Not to brag, but I'm pretty dang good at this game (past versions I mean). So, first thing I did was change the skill level to Heisman (offense and defense). I've been good enough to win on Heisman probably 80-85ish% of the time in the past, using evenly rated teams. Decided to play ND vs Michigan in South Bend, and not using Golson (so essentially, no read option, which I run a lot of).
Thought the game was quite realistic, though stopping the run is still a difficult task. Knocked out Gardner in the 2nd quarter and Michigan's RB and backup QB ran all over me. The backup QB broke a 30 yard run where he broke four or five tackles (and I set the big hits/strip ball adjustments to conservative, to get more tackles). That still isn't very realistic, but other than that, I like what I played.
Lost 24-7. Was down 10-7 entering the 4th but Tommy threw two more picks (three total), essentially killing any chance I had at rallying. One of the picks was my fault, the other two were just ducks. Michigan dominated the TOP, Rees threw a bunch of ducks (15-29, 165, 0 TDs, 3 INTs), had two sacks with Tuitt, one with Big Lou, one with Spond. Shumate had two TFL (he's an 86, wow, NCAA likes him as much as I do!). Michigan's kicker made a 55 yard FG (this has always been stupidly jacked if you play on Heisman). Didn't get to use Carlisle much but Atkinson is quite good on the game. Chris Brown had a big game (5 REC, 77 YDS, but I use my slot receiver extensively, and yes I know, he's not a slot receiver). Michigan struggled to throw the ball on me. Due to Tommy's lack of arm strength (though I believe it was a respectable 85 rating), I was forced to throw short, quick passes most of the game (as I feel like the real team will be forced to do this season). He did throw a very nice bomb to Chris Brown for a 46 yard gain.
Anyway, fun first game impression. I'm a dynasty guy, so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing these new changes they've made. I hope recruiting is more difficult; I used Heisman last year and still had a stupidly dominating recruiting class every year.
