This is the first game I haven't watched any of but it appears Minor is dealing. Need to get Heyward and BJ going and mix in a healthy McCann. Oooh weee

Yes sir Heyward needs to figure it out he is back to Heyward 2 years ago. But when they signed BJ if you watched him at all you knew this is what we were going to get.

The Saturday at 1pm game. My girlfriend and I always try to get to one good game with decent seats w/o the kids. Should be a good series.

I hope Appel drops to the Pirates... haha that would be funny. I'm excited about 2 top 15 picks though. It will be interesting to see if they take more MLB-ready players to try to put something together in the next 2-3 years. With the talent they have in the minors and young guys in the majors they could definitely contend for playoff spots and maybe even an NL penant. Maybe they try to draft a couple guys that could help them out soon but I doubt it. They are taking a very long-term approach which I think is good.

Oh my, that is awesome.

In other news the Bucco's are killing it still. They split a 4 game road series against the Reds, and really should have had 3 (blew a 9th inning lead, Grilli's 1st Blown Save). Unfortunately the Reds and Cardinals are also killing it this year. 3 of the Top 5 teams in baseball in one division.

In Pirate's new catcher Tony Sanchez (4th Overall, 2009) will make his MLB debut against the Angels this weekend (either Friday or Saturday). He could be catching former Indy (AAA) teammate Gerrit Cole. I think the reasoning is to put Martin at DH a night or two to give his body a rest and not let Trout and Co. pick us apart on the basepaths (McKenry has really struggled in that area this season). It is exciting to see all of the news talent coming up and the money invested in the draft starting to pay off. And I pray we do not move all these pieces for anyone (including Stanton).

It has been great watching them (Dodgers) play the last few weeks. As they have started to get healthy they have been a totally different team. Unfortunately they cannot keep Kemp healthy for any length of time. Hopefully they have a full squad for the second half. Should be interesting.
