Lol, I'm not worked up. I find it humorous these guys help me prove my original point.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Haters can hate but Lebron shut the door on a game 7 in the finals. Clutch jumper, clutch steal, clutch free throws.

Obvious troll is obvious.

FWIW, Greg Popovich, you know, the guy who blew Game 6 of the World Championship this week, agrees with me.

But you're right, I'm a troll.

SLAM ONLINE | » Gregg Popovich Hates the Term ‘World Champions’

Pop truly is the best, as the Boston Herald reveals: “The Spurs coach isn’t disputing any of Bill Russell’s titles, and he isn’t saying the Lakers actually beat the Celts in 2008. But he is a bit perturbed by the use of the word ‘world.’ ‘There are no world champions in the NBA, so anybody that has the flag up that says world champions is not correct,’ said Popovich prior to last night’s 94-73 Spurs win. ‘It’s not appropriate. The world champions, I believe, are the Spanish team right now. USA is the Olympic champion. The Lakers are the NBA champion. It doesn’t make sense for an NBA team to call themselves world champions. I don’t remember anybody playing anybody outside our borders to get that tag. Isn’t that true? I keep waiting for somebody to tell me I’ve missed something.’ When someone mentioned Toronto, Pop said, ‘There’s a team in Canada. That’s true. The world’s bigger than North America. I know sometimes we as arrogant Americans don’t respond to the rest of the world, but it’s true. There’s a big world out there.’”

Typed an argument to this two times already but the site keeps crashing on me so ill shorten it. Your humorous comment was trolling, not your opinion.

We'll call it syntax. Ill say that a league champion made from a league with the best players internationally is the world champion. You say that it's not because those associations and stadiums are located in North America.
Don't get all self-righteous about me arguing with you either, because you picked this argument with me, not the other way around.

Sure am glad the NBA season is over and the world champions were crowned. Hopefully my Blackhawks can win the hockey world championship in the next few days. I'm afraid my Cubs may never win the World Series and become world champions in my lifetime.

When is the Bassmaster classic? Really pulling for Kevin Van Dam to win the world championship of bass fishing again.

If you call correcting you picking an argument then, yes, I picked the argument. You can say whatever you want (God Bless America!), but that doesn't make you right.

The fact that you're confusing this with a patriotic statement or an America-centric opinion from me shows how much you're misinterpreting my argument. (Or is it "twisting it" for your "ignorant American" argument?). Dirk, tony Parker, and Gasol are all world champions too. Your opinion is yours, mine is mine. You calling me ignorant for mine and trying to lean your viewpoint on some half-baked national opinion without actually taking the time to refute the substance of my argument shows who the ignorant one is.

Good series. Now the REAL waiting for football begins!

Some people I flat out call stupid, other people prove it all on their own, which saves me from having to say anything.

You called it a World Championship. I said it was a NBA Championship and I hate how Americans call their pro champions World Championship. You LOL'd at me and said it was a World Championship and not even close. I called you ignorant (I'm sorry). You asked to show you who in Europe or China could beat these teams. Not the point. I agree the Heat are the best club team in the world. That doesn't make them World Champions and it doesn't make the NBA Championship the World Championship. You then called me a troll.

Your "argument" had no substance because the NBA Championship is not the World Championship and for you to argue otherwise is ridiculous. Dirk and Parker are not World Champions. Gasol is. His team actually won a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. There is no middle ground in this argument.

For context, I work in international sport. I have organized multiple World Championship events. I have traveled to 35+ countries in the past six years and my opinion (i.e. Americans that think their pro champions are world champions are ignorant) is shared by practically everyone in the international sport community, including Americans that understand the difference between a World Championship and a NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB Championship.

p.s. I am going to ignore BobD because he sleeps in USA pajamas.

I have a friend who works in International sports until he can get on with an American team. A guy's gotta eat.

Its all semantics. Would a World class team from another country beat the Spurs or the Heat? I doubt it. But it is what it is.

PS: Fcuk the Heat. Manu single handedly lost this series with his reckless play in my opinion.

Lebron averaged 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists in the finals. The other finals performance that is closest to that was 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. The player that put up that stat line? Lebron James last year.

He's had the two best statistical finals performances in history two years in a row.

He's awesome. He's also a baby. Watching how the spurs players treat the refs compared to the heat players is/should be embarrassing for heat fans.

The NBA should really tighten up on the flailing of hands and stomping of feet after call/no call. I'm 26 and I think it's embarrassing. No wonder many people 50 and above can't stand it.

My point of posting that was more to ask that people stop complaining about not liking him, and stop arguing about how he's not Jordan. We are watching one of the best ten players to ever play the game in his prime. I'm not saying people need to like him or cheer for him but we need to appreciate his game, it'll be gone before you know it.

I'm a Memphis fan, (one reason I think Cavs fans are whiny p*ssies, thanks lottery system), but I enjoy watching Lebron every time he plays the game. At this point he's playing against history and it's fascinating.

He's one of the greatest of all time, maybe ever. I agree. But if I had one game to win to save my life, I'm personally taking Kobe or Jordan over James. They're the most competitive and fearless players that are also all time greats.

He's obviously an all-time great but it is so hard to respect his whole game when he constantly flops at the slightest touch and then goes to the other end of the court and manhandles someone and cries when he either doesn't get the call or gets an offensive foul called. For me, it really does take away from his overall greatness that he plays a brand of basketball that I find to be cheap. He does amazing things every night and he is a constant threat to do something you or I have never seen before, but damn is it hard to appreciate him when he sprints the length of the court be the ref (correctly) called a charge on him.

I like the fact that my post asking for people to stop comparing him to Jordan and stop complaining about the aspects of his game they don't like and just appreciate Lebron for being what he is has gotten 2 responses.

1) A comparison to Jordan and Kobe
2) A complaint about an aspect of Lebron's game they don't like

I quoted you because I wanted to say that I agree that he's an all time great.

But are you The Lord? Because you don't want him compared to Kobe were not allowed to? Lol, not trying to start something, just making a point/joke. All in fun.

Lol I was just making a point too. People compare him to others, I say "yeah but I'm just appreciating his game for what it is, trying not to compare him right now", response: "yeah he's great but MJ's better"

I'm not saying you're not allowed to. But it's funny to me how people just can't help themselves. It's like a nationwide tic or compulsion.

Right and my point is that I cannot stop complaining about the aspects of his game that I don't like and just enjoy the great player he is because I cannot separate the two and I don't think I should have to

Read my response on the last page. Not saying your not allowed to, in fact I think he's far from a perfect player and your criticism has a lot of merit. I just found it funny that those were the first two posts immediately in response to my reminder that we should try to "stop and smell the roses" a little. I was more talking about how the public immediately reacts to everything said about James with those two things and it was funny and appropriate that the two responses were those exactly. I was just pointing out the humor, not trying to be degrading. It's a fascination I have of how the public grades Lebron's legacy before I think it's fair or appropriate . I don't want you to think I'm telling you to not complain, so sorry if it came off that way.

No worries, my bad. The same thing you're explaining happened (for different reasons) to Barry Bonds. I will likely never witness a better hitter or better seasons from another player as long as I live but the public HATED Bonds. Also, I blame ESPN for a lot of the LeBron hate.

I think this has to do with the fact we, the public, were told he was the next Jordan. The kid was 16 yrs old and ESPN was televising his HS games live and calling him the next great one. I don't know when he was nicknamed 'King James', but wouldn't be surprised if it was before he graduated HS.

When it's all said and done, I think the only argument people will have Jordan > LeBron is Jordan's 'killer' instinct. LeBron is probably going to shatter his statistics, win as many MVPs, Finals MVPs, NBA Championships, etc. He will probably go down as one of the two greatest players of all-time, with the old-timers pounding the table for Jordan and the 'new' generation for LeBron.

With that said, until he shows some humility, I will root for him to lose every time he takes the floor.
