According to TJ34 on II, who is the resident insider on their board, Yeargin is being recruited as an ILB. Really can't believe this myself but he also went on to explain in detail the things the staff look for in ILB. He basically says that it's one if the harder positions to recruit and project for our defense. Very interesting stuff.

Perhaps they think he will be able to add a little bulk to play inside, while not losing his quickness.

To be fair, TJ also said he might be more natural at DOG but the cupboard is stocked there with Councell and Jaylon. He most likely will be an inside guy.

Alford sent him a DM on twitter this morning that said "CALL ME NOW." He called him up and Alford told him he had an offer. He says it was a relief to get an offer from ND because he's been working extremely hard for it. Talked about the prestige of the school and them being in the MNC game showed everything ND has to offer. Feels like he would fit in well. (I agree with him) He wants to visit this summer and says he will be a NSD commitment where ever he chooses.

Favorite part of the article is that he wants to visit this summer, mainly because he told the Michigan 247 yesterday after he was offered that he won't be able to visit this summer and may have to use an OV if he wants to visit Michigan

In the 247 article he said that Alford was trying to lock him in for an official visit and he let Alford know that he wanted to get here sooner. This summer like others have posted. I just find it a big positive that he is wanting to visit sooner.

Yeargin's first offer(has over thirty) came from Wisconsin. Teammate Quincy Wilson also has a Wisconsin offer. Who recruits south Florida for Wisconsin?

...IDK maybe should go ask a Wisconsin board

Thomas Hammock wears a lot of hats for Wisconsin - assistant head coach/ running backs(Monte Ball)/recruiting coordinator. One of the few coaches Gary Anderson retained from Bielema 's staff. Like Alford, he was a running back in college(northern Illinois). The two must pass each other frequently in south Florida. Alford and Hammock are after Sony Michel as well.

Yeargin told Anna Hickey from Scout that Florida, Notre Dame, Michigan and South Carolina are his leaders right now. She reckons ND has a great shot if he gets on campus.

Really like this kid and I think he could play any of the LB spots and if he keeps growing could even end up a DE.

I think he is a Long way from a true DE in our system although weakside/Cat I can see. Are we recruiting him at any specific LB spot? Would assume ILB would appeal to him with the depth we have at outside and the way the staff loves other Cat prospects.

I would agree, but see post #12 on the first page. If he ends up at 6'6 and 250 pounds like he thinks is possible then I could see him at DE.

There's some posts on the first page talking about his potential position as well, may be a more natural DOG but with ND's backlog of talent there may be recruited as an ILB. I reckon he's the type of prospect who could play any LB position so I'd love to get him on board and plug him in where he's needed.

He will have to grown another 3" and put on a LOT of weight to get that big. I just don't see it. Kid will be a LBer and I thought I read they we looking at him as an ILB first.

Yea, TJ on II said we are recruiting him as an ILB. However, in his interview with II he said that Diaco has told him he could play any one of the LB spots including putting his hand on the ground in the 4-3 as a DE. I say bring him in and let his development decide where to put him. I really like his athleticism for his size.
