I'm from Missouri. I grew up in a small town just south of Cape Girardeau. You've probably heard of Cape if you live in StL. I agree there are lots of good breweries around, but I'm not a big fan of StL. Been there several times and it is always congested, lots of construction and on top of it, it seems to be dirty. I've just never had a good experience there. I'm sure if I had someone show me the good areas it would be nice.

tend to agree...

Bell's. Oberon
Very delicious wheat beer with hints of citrus. Many add a orange slice to it. I prefer just the beer.

Good choices in the brews but not sure of the order.

I agree, but I've never had the IPA, so I was too eager to try it. If I had it to do all over again, I'd start with the Goose Island. I'll start again later tonight in a different order!

I might actually just keep drinking the IPA until it's gone...

Nothig wrong with either of these options. I like to drink a beer for the first time on a fresh palate as well (plus I also just get excited and want to open it as well).

Okay, you've convinced me...

6er of the IPA... 30 min break... 6er of the Goose... 30 min break... 6er of the Sierra Nevada...

I should feel pretty good by then!!!

Sam Adams Dark Depths Baltic Porter/IPA

This is not good. First sip or two was ok with some nice roasted malt and coffee flavor with just a touch of piney hops but by half way down the glass it now tastes like the original flavor mixed with equal amount water. Yeash it is like roasted malt flavored water. :upset:

Ha, I like Sam Adams a lot in general, Cherry Wheat, Ole Fezewig, Boston Lager, White water, Nobile Pils, they have some good ones but yeah some of their seasonals are not really that good...

Yeah, I'm going thru the IPA pretty good, but I can see I'm not going to make it to the Sierra Nevada tonight... Unless I really believe in myself and try hard enough!

Sierra pale may very well be my favorite market beer... But I can rarely down just a sixer of it without getting a headache... It's too heavy for that kind of drinking... Add IPAs to it?? Wow

The Sierra I have is the Kellerweis. I really don't plan to go thru all of that, but I do plan to get toasty!

Idk if I have had kellerweis... I do really enjoy Celebration, Pale, Torpedo and Ol Chico... I do not like their summer ale at all...

Celebration is my favorite SN, but Kellerweis is a damn good Hefeweizen. If you like Hefe's you should grabe it.

Chimay Grand Reserve Trappiste Ale. This is a terrific beer, super smooth.

Sam Adams Latitude 48 IPA 2013 release Mosaic Hops. Not a fan. Tastes more like a Pale Ale than an IPA. Lots of malt, crackers, and some herbal bitter hops.

You really haven't been a fan of that Sam Adams IPA pack eh?

That is an understatement.

Sam Adams Third Voyage Double IPA. Hmm I will say that this is a pretty good though not great double IPA. This and the Whitewater IPA are the best of the pack but neither would score above an 85 for me (most likely in the low 80's). I just am not a fan of Sam Adams.

I haven't had any of the beers you tried but I guess even though I'm not a big Sam Adams drinker, I expected bigger things out of Sam Adams.

Founders All Day IPA now for me.

I'm sipping on some Powers 12 year old Special Reserve. My birthday present to me. Full-bodied, pot still, a little spicy. It's not quite as good as Red Breast, but very respectable for the price I paid ($40).
