Happy Dyngus Day everybody! Today we're all Polish-American! I was introduced to this wonderful holiday by a friend during my senior year at ND. His family heritage is Polish so he rounded us all up and we went to MR Falcons out by the airport to celebrate. We spent the entire day drinking beer, eating sausage, smoking cigars, and listening to polka music. I STRONGLY suggest anyone in South Bend to check it out. South Bend has one of the largest Dyngus Day celebrations in the country!

Apparently you all hate fun. Even Archie Bunker would have fun on this Polish holiday.

Rack Em:
Is the fact that both links you posted are for the same site a Dyngus Day April Fool's Day prank?

I just can't get into the pussy willow thing. One thing this all proves, it is great to be Irish! You're right Rack 'em, maybe everyone is too hung over from St. Patty's day? Or maybe a few people want to keep all the frivolity out of recruit threads!

But have fun everyone!

nothing better than homemade kielbasa on the grill. with pierogies.

With a healthy helping of piwo?

Today (the Twins' home opener) has a forecast high of 33 degrees. I think I'll forego the grill – not so much because of the temp but because I'm pissed. Spring? My white Irish arse!!!

When it's this cold does the strike zone (also) shrink?

I broke down and bought my first car (a '76 Honda Civic with 3000 miles on it) in the winter of '77. I was happy riding my bike (bicycle) here, there and everywhere in Orlando until we had a week long stretch of freezing temps. Riding with tears flooding my eyes was hazardous. I suppose that goggles would have been less expensive.

I admire the folks here in MN who pedal through snow and ice at 20 below. I also shake my head and repeat to myself "I am not a wuss, I am not a wuss ..."

Back to Dyngus Day and kielbasa, piwo (pivo, bier, beer, whatever) and Polka.

Bogs, Bogs, BOGS! You, of all people ...

Awh, feck! I was writing Patrick, got interrupted, came back decided to shorten it, and look, I let all the green out! I had a hot date last night and haven't been right all day. Thanks for being downright upright for me today, though!
