Breaking news: The Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a thing.

Edit: Funny line but it doesn't apply.

I don't think the federal CRA protects sexual orientation. Some states do, though.

Check Title VII.

It sure as heck does.

EDIT: Damn! You're totally right. My bad. I took many a class about this and should have known that *******s have blocked sexual orientation from being added to Title VII. Mea Culpa but **** that.

For all you people saying Te'o 40 will kill his draft stock and push him out the first round read this by Todd McShay

I was asked all day Monday whether I think he could fall out of the first round, and while there is a chance, I highly doubt it.

Te'o has enough good tape to stand on, a good enough body of work that shows his ability to make plays. He's much like former Florida and current New England Patriots LB Brandon Spikes, who I personally timed at 4.91 during his pro day. Both play quicker than fast, and because of Te'o's instincts he plays faster than his 40 time could ever indicate.

In the end, my guess is that we'll see an improvement in his times at the Notre Dame pro day, and Te'o will end up being a first-rounder when all is said and done.

He's slower than I thought. I've always ripped on him for being slow and taking **** poor angles, but if he's actually that slow I was wrong about his bad angles. At that speed, his angles were solid.

#NotreDame S Zeke Motta's official 40 time is 4.83. Analyst Scott Wright @DraftCountdown said his baseline needed to be 4.6.

Where are the people that always say 'just wait until he goes through Longo's program'?

I've always questioned why everyone sings Longo's praises. I don't buy his conditioning it far superior to every other program's, I mean, did you see the Alabama game? Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he's good at what he does and I don't think he's 'bad' at his job, but I see nothing special.

I've thought this same thing but didn't feel like defending the onslaught that would ensue.

I mean you can only take a level of talent so high. When the gap between talent of 2 separate players is so great, Luongo can only do so much. The issue is not comparing our players to Alabama. The issue is whether he is maximizing the potential of the players that HE HAS in the weight room.

I believe he does.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I don't see how you can say that.

If this coaching staff can take a bunch of "slow" position players and go undefeated, I can't wait to see the success we will have with the players we are bringing in now!

The most obvious sign of Longo's affect on the program is in our 4th quarter performance; we used to get steamrolled in the late game, but now we're the ones pushing people around. He deserves credit for that.

I'm with WakeUpEchoes in that a lot of our starters over the last three years simply weren't elite athletes. That puts a pretty low ceiling on what you can accomplish through a S&C program.

I will buy that. Although I think it's more that he's improved the condition from a Weis-level to a standard BCS level. I don't think he's outperforming his BCS peers, if you will.

I guess it's speculation, so I can't. But I don't see how one can say he doesn't, either.

there are points made on both sides...the one thing we can say is that bama just overall has better athletes..bigger stronger faster...until our team is comprised of this but also the mental makeup they have(which i think is often lost in our talk) we won't compete...but this is a debate that not only comes down to strength and conditioning but also scheme and playmakers..

1 thing to note on the side of longo...is the ability to finish a game in the 4th quarter which is vastly better now than before...but i do believe he is doing the best with what he has...when we come full circle w/ deep talent then we will see us being dominant like bama

but i do kind of get a lil tired of just wait till longo has him like they will instantly become machines and just jacked/faster etc...genes/nutrition(HUGE THING)/sleep also factor in which longo can't control besides the nutrition tables..but that isn't a full proof thing

I agree with this! Its almost hard to believe Motta is that slow. We should be much better off with the type of speed and athleticism we're getting now

That's not only reasonable, but very likely. It's a rite of spring in CFB-- each program pronounces its S&C coach a wizard, and all the fans get excited for the bigger/faster/stronger players of tomorrow.

The important thing is that we've got a legit BCS-caliber program now. It's probably impossible to distinguish between the contributions of individual S&C coaches and the effects of good recruiting anyway.
