A) I didn't go to ND, but most certianly wish I had a degree with that kind of umph behind it and I most certainly wish my university provided me with the network that ND does. Does that mean I am not set up to be successful for my life absolutely not. Does it mean I may have to work harder because it it, I think so.

B) You would be a fool to laugh at someone from ND that is willing to give your student a free education there, regardless of what they said.

Yes, but it would seem to be a minor violation as it would be hard to argue that the mistake gave us any competitive advantage at all. To the contrary, if anything, it probably hurt our chances.

As someone who has handled his recruitment quite well, I strongly doubt the error is something that will cost ND. Find it hard to believe that would be the reason. Either he is still set on ND and can forgive of the little gaffe or was all set for UCLA.

Either way, while I would be ticked for a minute, this would hardly ruin the moment for me. Not to mention at 18, he will have plenty of moments in his life.
