Rivals and Under Armour just came to a deal that should be of big effect for recruiting, both in terms of camps and the UA Game. Rivals and UA will now hold 17 camps coast to coast for recruits, and jointly perform the selection process for the UA game.

Looks like ESPN's almost exclusive access to the UA game is over, and Rivals will now have unparalleled access to that game. Wonder how that effects their Army game ties, if at all, and ESPN's access to the game.

That's a huge deal, considering ESPNs ultra-awesome recruiting service.

Seriously though, with ESPN having it's own recruiting service, I wonder how the mothership feels with their partner (UA) partnering with Rivals.

The Opening is sponsored by Nike right?....not sure if that means anything

I think so

So now UA has the Rivals250 Challenge to compete with the event of The Opening and these new camps to compete with the Opening camps.

The best news is that we will get accurate 40 times, height, weight, etc and the kids themselves will get more exposure to earn scholarships.

Anytime ESPN finds itself on the outside looking in...I kinda like it.

Guess that means that they are terminating their affiliation with the Army game in lieu of the UA game.

So does 247 or ESPN affiliate with Army? Or is it cancelled?

0% chance Army game gets cancelled. I would guess that someone else will step up to the plate or it will simply go on unaffiliated.

Yeah, the official account actually just tweeted in response to that question that they are discussing potential options right now.

Perhaps that is something the ever-growing 24/7 network scoops up. Seems like a good match now.

I'm still having trouble understanding things... does this mean ESPN recruiting is out of the loop now when it comes to the UA game?

Or will UA be allowing both Rivals and ESPN to be involved?

Rivals is associated with Yahoo, which just partnered with NBC Sports recently, correct?

I believe Scout was affiliated with the Army game before Rivals took over. Maybe Scout get's back into the game.
